George Carlin On “Saving The Planet”

As more time goes on while people and governments of the world continue to unfold in ridiculousness beyond the imagination of most, the words of George Carlin still ring true and potent as ever.

Often people will say they wish that Carlin was still with us so that we could hear his incredibly hilarious and philosophical take on modern times, but as much as we miss his insights, we can know what his take is on our new era just by listening to the timeless recordings of the past.

The following 8 minutes are Carlin’s take on “saving our planet”. If this was played at the United Nations meetings for all the world leaders to hear, perhaps we would have less urgency to enact policies that arbitrarily aim to address climate change while restricting the liberties of governments and individuals alike.

“The earth doesn’t share our prejudice toward plastic. Plastic came out of the earth. The earth probably sees plastic as just another one of its children. Could be the only reason the earth allowed us to be spawned from it in the first place. Could be the answer to the age old philosophical question Why are we here? Plastic.”
