Riley Gaines Trolls University Over Male Swimmer On Female Team

Harvard can’t seem to get out of its own way. The school’s push for what they are suggesting is unity is causing nothing but division. From lawsuits over admission policies to constant drama over transgender rights. Guess what, there back in the news again over the same deranged issue.

I understand that the left is applying pressure for every type of absurdity, but when will corporate America and these American universities just learn to say NO. By accommodating every single demand the woke mob makes, they are penalizing society and the 95 percent of the population that is not involved.

It has recently come to light that the Harvard swimming team was given a letter concerning transgender swimmer Lia Thomas. If your unfamiliar with his story, Thomas was a very poor male swimmer that decided to “transition” and swim  on the girls team at the University of Pennsylvania. By the conclusion of his career at UPenn he had improved from 65th on the men’s team in the 500-yard freestyle to 1st on the women’s team. In the 200-yard freestyle he advanced from 554th on the men’s team to 5th on the women’s team. In March 2022, Thomas became the first openly transgender athlete to win an NCAA Division I national championship in any sport, after winning the women’s 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:33.24; Olympic silver medalist Emma Weyant was second with a time 1.75 seconds behind Thomas.

Meanwhile, Riley Gaines was competing at the University of Kentucky. She was the 2022 Southeastern Conference women’s Swimming and Diving Scholar Athlete of the year.  That same year while swimming in the 200-yard NCAA freestyle championship, Gaines tied for fifth place with Thomas. The trophy that was awarded for that finish was given solely to Thomas for publicity purposes.

Having competed against Thomas and experiencing firsthand the unfairness of biological women having to compete against biological males, Gaines has become an outspoken champion for equality and fairness in women’s sports, specifically opposing men competing in women’s sporting events.

Back to the Harvard letter. When the controversy over Thomas was in the news, Harvard sent the following letter to their swimming team.

“The conversations and controversy surrounding Lia have been challenging to read. In particular, they focus on what is fair and what is ethical. Regardless of your personal stance, Lia has been incredibly transparent and is abiding by all NCAA rules. That is a fact. Having watched [Schuyler Bailar]’s transition firsthand, I can tell you that if it wasn’t for the support of the teams, he may not be here today. Life is more important than politics. While we will never tell you what to do or what to believe, it doesn’t benefit out team from winning a championship if we spend our collective energy getting annoyed or frustrated. Let the NCAA figure out their next steps. Let us focus on our team. And if any press reaches out, then please direct them to our Sports Media Office and ideally, refrain from comment.”

When Gaines learned of the letter, she decided to translate it in a more literal sense to clarify what Harvard was really saying to its swimmers. I have to admit, her version is much clearer and illustrates the hypocrisy of the university’s stance.  Here is her translated version:

“Let me divert your attention from inherently feeling like something is wrong, by asking you to focus on how great Lia has been. Let me emotionally blackmail you into accepting mistreatment because otherwise you are complicit in a potential death. Exchanging your fair treatment for someone else’s benefit (a male in this case) is a justifiable cause and the fair treatment of women is just politics anyway. While we won’t tell you what to do, we’re telling you it is a bad choice to fight this. Let the men in charge at the NCAA decide your fate. Immerse your thoughts and feelings into something else to ignore the obvious injustice you face. Let other people decide if you are worthy of fair competition without your input or voice. Oh, and finally don’t talk.”

Gaines, is telling the truth. Universities are downplaying the injustice of having men compete against women. In an interview with Matt Walsh of the Daily Wire, Paula Scanlan, who one of Lia Thomas’s teammates at UPenn, accused the university of wanting students to “be quiet” and “they did it in a very effective way.”

“They continued to tell us that our opinions were wrong and if we had an issue about it, we were the problem and it’s frightening and your future job is on the line. Is there something wrong with me for thinking this is wrong? The university wanted us to be quiet and they did it in a very effective way. There was something going on in this athletic department that wanted to keep us quiet. This was getting scary.”

Scanlan also stated that female swimmers would hide in bathroom stalls to avoid changing in front of Thomas.

These universities are suffering from an “Inclusion Delusion.” By trying to force a square peg in a round hole, they are destroying women’s athletics. On larger scale, they are literally disrupting the social order and God’s plan.
