Unmasking The Left’s Lies Concerning Halloween “Inclusion”

The left hates everything about America and American traditions. They will attack anything and everything using their usual flimsy shields of racism, diversity, equity and inclusion as excuses to alter the American way of life.

Now, liberals have the simple secular holiday of Halloween in their vindictive sights. I can tell you this, I have never met a child that viewed Halloween as anything more than an opportunity to dress up, have some scary fun and collect some candy. Yet, the left want us all to believe that it offends some people and that it should be banned for “inclusive” reasons.

This is total nonsense. What can be more inclusive and liberating in a childish way, than allowing kids to dress up as their favorite superhero, monster, celebrity or idol. Halloween is fun. It comes once a year, and no-one views it with any political overtones except the left. They care nothing about joy or simple pleasures. They want only one thing, obedience on every level. They will push their agenda relentlessly until, if left unchecked, any hint of beloved tradition and values are extinguished.

In Washington state, a liberal hotbed of woke misfits, the Marysville School District informed parents in an email that:

“Halloween celebrations will not be permitted during school hours.” the district said the decision was made to “better maintain an environment where each and every student feels safe, comfortable, and valued.”

Ben Franklin Day Elementary School in Seattle was even more snobbish in their dismissal of a holiday beloved by children, and their excuse was even more of an outlandish lie. Their newsletter read:

“We do not celebrate Halloween at B.F. Day. Please send your child in play clothes, no costumes.”

“As a school with foundational beliefs around equity for our students and families, we are moving away from our traditional ‘Pumpkin Parade’ event and requesting that students do not come to school in costumes. Even though the news will disappoint students, the decision is meant to show respect for all B.F. Day students.”

“Halloween events create a situation where some students must be excluded for their beliefs, financial status, or life experience. Costume parties often become an uncomfortable event for many children, and they distract students and staff from learning. Large events create changes in schedules with loud noise levels and crowds. Some students experience over stimulation, while others must deal with complex feelings of exclusion. It’s uncomfortable and upsetting for kids.”

Of course, everything about this “newsletter” is a total lie. Are you really trying to convince parents that, “Costume parties often become an uncomfortable event for many children, and they distract students and staff from learning. Large events create changes in schedules with loud noise levels and crowds. Some students experience over stimulation, while others must deal with complex feelings of exclusion. It’s uncomfortable and upsetting for kids.”

I mean seriously, these people are laughable. So instead of enjoying the day as children should, these poor kids will be suffering through activities like, “thematic units of study about the fall or, autumnal artwork while sharing all the cozy feelings of the season.”

The newsletter ended by thanking the parents for their support, which they didn’t give since they were not involved in the decision in any way. In fact, they were never even consulted. Then in the ultimate show of arrogance, the letter encourages parents to join the Racial Equity Committee, the very committee that eliminated Halloween without parent consultation.

This is a blatant slap in the face to parents. This committee is doing nothing but virtue signaling that they know better than the parents of the students. They are clearly saying that they don’t care or need parental consent to change the social makeup of their children’s lives. It is an outrageous overstep, and if I was one of these parents, I would be standing on the steps surrounded by pumpkins dressed as the grim reaper.

This school district is so tone deaf, that they are attempting to defend the decision using racial bias as a reason.

According to a Seattle Public Schools spokesperson, the decision came from the school’s Racial Equity Team after years of discussion.

In an interview on the Jason Ranz Show on KTTH, the spokesperson had this to say:

“At B.F. Day Elementary, there have been discussions about the school’s Pumpkin Parade every year for at least the past five years. The school Racial Equity Team brought the topic up again in September and the members, with staff input, made the recommendation listed in the newsletter post.”

The spokesperson went on to say that other Seattle schools have also canceled Halloween festivities recently. She claims Black students, particularly males, do not celebrate the secular holiday. The decision was meant to protect them from feeling marginalized.

“Historically, the Pumpkin Parade marginalizes students of color who do not celebrate the holiday. Specifically, these students have requested to be isolated on campus while the event took place. In alliance with SPS’s unwavering commitment to students of color, specifically African American males, the staff is committed to supplanting the Pumpkin Parade with more inclusive and educational opportunities during the school day.”

Earlier, I said that this was an outrageous stance, I was being polite. This decision, based on these totally fabricated reasons are moronic, insulting, and racist. To penalize an entire student body by saying black males feel marginalized is ludicrous. More importantly, it breeds resentment against black males. This is nothing more than a group trying to be relevant and instead proving how shallow and irrelevant they and the agenda that they cling to actually is.  The truth is simple, kids are kids. So why does the left need to drag race into something where it doesn’t belong? This is a text book woke move that breeds hatred and confusion instead of unity.

Halloween doesn’t discriminate against anyone. When children dress like monsters it’s all done in make-believe fun. The left can’t make that same claim, in this case Halloween tore off their masks and exposed them for the horrific souls they are.
