Chicago’s Civil Disobedience Is Not the Civil War

I have a wall calendar hanging in my office and since it was the last day of the month, I went to flip it. As I did, I couldn’t help noticing that the year was 2023. You wouldn’t think that would be big news, unless of course you’re the mayor of Chicago, Brandon Johnson.

Johnson, somehow believes that the cesspool he and his liberal Democratic comrades have created, are the result of what he calls “right wing extremists” that (get this) can’t accept the results of the civil war.

Perhaps someone should remind Johnson that the civil war ended in 1865. They should also remind him that the last Republican Mayor of the “Windy City” was William Hale Thompson, known as “Big Bill,” who was mayor from 1927-1931. That means that for the last 92 years Democrats have ruled over the city.

Long associated with the underworld, notorious gangsters, murderers, and dirty politicians, Chicago is immersed in a past and present of ill-repute. The only difference today is that as bad as the crime is on the streets of Chicago, the mismanagement and political poison injected into every political realm of the city is even worse. Led by radical leftists with a non-existent criminal justice system, Chicago has spiraled into the depths of despair and hatred.

Bad decision after bad decision, have doomed the city. It wasn’t long ago when Lori Lightfoot was on her soapbox beating her chest about how proud she was that Chicago was a sanctuary city. Not only was her indignance and self-righteousness on full display, but she was also extremely critical of Gregg Abbott and his handling of the border crisis. Her arrogance was based on a belief that Chicago would never see a true influx of illegals, but that was short lived. Abbott, his state overrun by Biden’s open border policies, began shipping immigrants to these “welcoming” sanctuary cities.

However, it didn’t take long for the welcome mat to be put away. Now suffering from never ending violence on the city’s streets and a self-induced immigration rush, current corrupt mayor Brandon Johnson refuses to accept the sentence his party has imposed on the citizens of Chicago. Instead, he has chosen to reach deep into his leftist bag of lies and try and spin one whopper of a tale.

According to Johnson the fact that his party has been in control for 92 years is irrelevant, no, no, he has a better explanation. In a classic mindless rant Johnson said this:

“It’s the same Republican right-wing extremism that stormed the Capitol, it’s the same right-wing extremism that refuses to accept the results of the Civil War. It’s raggedy. It’s disrespectful. It’s mean-spirited.”

Wait, did he just blame the rampant problems of his city on Republicans that “refuse to accept the results of the civil war?” Does he not have any mirrors at his house? Does he not know that going back to the mid 80’s, four out of the past seven mayors of Chicago have been black? Has he forgotten the Obama presidency? No, mayor you can’t blame the disaster that you call a city on Republicans, or as you say, “right wing extremists.” Your party has worked hard at destroying the city and now you are reaping the results.

The New York Post commented, ‘If you can’t stand the heat … complain about it. Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson whined Tuesday about ‘right-wing extremism’ and blamed his predecessor, Lori Lightfoot, for the many troubles afflicting the Windy City.”

The report went on to say that he insists he “inherited” the city’s ongoing migrant crisis and accused conservatives of just about everything.

“It is abysmal and it’s an affront for everything that is good about this country, for the extremism in this country to use people as political tools to settle political scores for something that happened 400 years ago. They’re still mad that a black man is free in this country.”

“Everyone knows that the right-wing extremism in this country has targeted Democratically ran (sic) cities, and quite frankly, they have been quite intentional about going after Democratically ran (sic) cities that are led by people of color.”

Woo-Hoo! You hear stories about people going insane, but most of the time they don’t do it in front of a microphone. Johnson is absolutely denying reality and trying to rewrite history one lie at a time. For the life of me, I don’t understand how losers like this continue to get elected. Chicago, like other Democratic run cities, will never pull themselves out of the liberal grave they’re in if they keep electing morons like this.

Hopefully for Christmas, someone will tuck a mirror and a current calendar into Johnson’s stocking. Along with the lump of coal he deserves too, of course.
