I am little late to writing this article. Christmas and New Years kept me fairly busy, but I can tell you that America Fest 2023 was an excellent political conference. In fact, it was probably my favorite political conference I’ve ever attended.

For today’s article, I wanted to share some important takeaways/highlights from AmFest 2023.

1. Results from the AmFest 2023 Straw poll

At most major political conferences, conference attendees often have the opportunity to vote in a straw poll. I personally took part in the straw poll, and I was curious to find out about the straw poll’s results.

Unsurprisingly, a vast majority (82%) of America Fest conference attendees support President Trump as the GOP Presidential nominee.

The more interesting result from the poll pertained to the GOP’s Vice-presidential nominee. Out of 1,133 votes, Tucker Carlson and Vivek Ramaswamy came away as the top two vote-getters. Over 60% of participants preferred either Carlson or Ramaswamy as Trump’s VP choice.

The result from the Vice-president question came as a pleasant surprise. Recently, rumors have picked up that President Trump is considering Establishment candidate Nikki Haley as his VP pick, so this straw poll demonstrate the MAGA base’s wide dissatisfaction of Nikki Haley.

2. Vivek Ramaswamy’s phenomenal speech

Personally, I believe Vivek Ramaswamy gave one of the best speeches I’ve ever heard. Over the past few years, I’ve heard scores of political speeches, and Vivek uniquely speaks to the issues that young Americans are facing.

As a Millennial (Generation Y), he understands the loss of meaning among America’s youth and the plethora of cultural/identity issues facing our youth. Towards the end of his speech, Vivek articulated what it means to be American in specific terms–not the generic platitudes often coming from most elected officials and politicos. He even stated concrete actions that would better define the American identity: ending birthright citizenship for illegal aliens, making English the official language of the USA, standing for America’s common law tradition, and ending affirmative action.

In his speech, Vivek also pushed the “Overton Window” (i.e. the framework of acceptable political discourse) on The Great Replacement, the government’s lies surrounding 9/11, the Federal Government’s involvement in Jan 6th, and the dishonesty coming from our current “America Last” Regime. In fact, Vivek even said that he would rather “wage a war against America’s shadow government” instead of sending America’s youth to die in Ukraine as America’s political establishment wishes to do.

On a different note, Vivek told CNN race-hustler Van Jones to “shut the f- up” in the middle of his speech. Van Jones recently smeared Vivek as a “demagogue” and a “dangerous person”. So, Vivek’s comment was not unwarranted and served as comedic relief from an overall serious speech.
