‘Good News Joe’ has More Good News
Remember the uproar over the Biden administration’s proposal to ban gas stoves?
A little over a year ago, a commissioner from the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, Richard Trumka Jr., said that banning gas stoves, and all gas appliances for that matter, “was on the table.” He further added that “Products that can’t be made safe can be banned.”
Even though gas stoves are used in about 40% of US homes, they produce ultra-fine pollutants that are linked to cancer, respiratory illness and cardiovascular disease. A peer-reviewed research paper found that 12% of childhood asthma cases can be linked to gas stove use. Since emissions that come from the burn process are supposedly destroying the planet through climate change, any appliance with an electric alternative is on the hit list.
It’s the type of issue that makes a woke leftist giddy. By outlawing gas stoves (and natural gas hookups in New York and California), leftists can revel in their sanctimony and belief they are “making a difference,” while simultaneously experiencing the joy they get from forcing ordinary people to bend to their will.
So, imagine my surprise when I learned Biden has backed off the gas stove ban.
Yep, that’s right. Apparently, the Department of Energy issued its final rules, which will go into effect in 2028, and in essence, most current gas stove products will qualify.
“President Biden is committed to using all the tools at the Administration’s disposal to lower costs for American families and deliver healthier communities — including energy efficiency measures like the one announced today,” Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm said in a statement.
Hmmm… Imagine that.
It’s hard to understand how such an obvious target for the radical environmentalists could have slipped away. Could a Harvard CAPS Harris poll that found 69% of those surveyed oppose such a ban be part of the reason? Maybe all of it?
Is it too cynical to suggest Biden’s handlers decided to shelve the gas stove ban until after the 2024 election? Does anyone else wonder if the regulations will suddenly reappear once the left no longer has to worry about voter backlash?
Is it that easy to dupe the American Public?
Good News Joe is Everywhere
It seems that on every front, the news is good for Joe Biden, and if the news happens to be bad, well, the leftist propaganda arm will make sure you don’t hear much about it.
Recent headlines screamed that January nonfarm payrolls increased by 353,000 jobs, while unemployment remained under 3.7%, which is the longest stretch under 4% in 50 years. The report also highlighted significant wage gains.
Forget that in order to achieve this level of prosperity, the government increased annual expenditures by almost $3 trillion since 2019, the year before the pandemic. What we have learned is once new spending levels are increased, regardless of the reason, that becomes the new spending floor for Democrats. However, reckless spending has resulted in unsustainable deficits and annual interest payments approaching $1 trillion annually, trailing only healthcare, pensions, defense, and welfare in size.
The worst part? Interest on the debt is compounding at a furious pace, not only because of the elevated interest rate levels but also the exploding deficit itself. The time of reckoning for this unimaginable fiscal incompetence is coming, and the consequences will be severe, but at least until November 6th, party on!
One of the biggest negatives that has dogged the Biden presidency is inflation, reflected most visibly in the backlash against rising gas prices.
In July 2022, the average price of a gallon of gas reached $5.10. This was primarily due to Biden’s anti-fossil fuel policies, which restricted access to oil leases, killed important oil infrastructure projects and caused exploration capital to dry up. Anyone with a modicum of sense knew that investing in oil was a dead end, since the government was so keen on killing off the entire industry.
Yet, even though Biden hates fossil fuels, he recognized the dilemma, which threatened his reelection prospects, so he quietly approved the world’s largest oil export terminal in Texas, dramatically increasing U.S. oil export capacity by 2 million barrels of oil a day. Remember, the price of oil is futures driven. An announcement of a major project like the one in Texas dramatically impacted the spot price of oil.
How much did you hear about that project in the leftist media?
Coupled with the steady release of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, which has been virtually depleted, gas prices have steadily declined to an average of $3.14 per gallon today. That’s still 70% higher than when Biden took office, but the uninformed have short memories, so they believe the claim that Biden lowered gas prices almost $2 per gallon.
Heard much about the Ukraine war lately?
Me neither.
That’s because Ukraine is losing, and there isn’t a whole lot Biden can do to prevent the inevitable. In the worst calculation of his presidency, Slow Joe is responsible for squandering $100 billion sent to Ukraine with little oversight. All that money accomplished virtually nothing except enriching corrupt characters and a massive loss of life.
Since this is the one issue leftists can’t manipulate, the strategy is twofold; First, push Ukraine below the fold on the internet (that means you have to scroll or click to see the story on the website), and keep the Ukraine war machine going until November 6th. Shortly thereafter, it’s likely Ukraine will be forced to accept the territorial concessions that Russia demanded before the war started.
Republicans will bluster, piss and moan like they always do, but it won’t change the outcome. The time to hold Biden’s feet to the fire on Ukraine is now, but the opposition remains fixated on one issue: the border.
What can Stop Good News Joe?
I wish I had an answer that would make you feel better. While they are a wicked and unscrupulous group of people, we can’t deny that in terms of strategy, leftists run rings around conservatives. As I was reading Trump’s numerous posts on Truth Social ripping E. Jean Carroll, who is obviously a disturbed individual, I immediately wondered how his attacks would impact the gender gap. According to a recent Quinnipiac poll, Trump lost 5% support among women in the last month, about the same time he started tearing into Carroll.
Trump is at his best when he’s focused on policy while avoiding the personal attacks. Yes, we all know the system is corrupt and the left has weaponized law enforcement and the judiciary, but all of that can be sorted out after he becomes president again. That’s why he needs to stay focused on the issues that matter to the American people, and E. Jean Carroll isn’t one of them.
Even worse, Republicans as a party are falling face first into the trap Biden is laying at the border. Mark my words; by June, border crossings will be way down, and the media will be heaping loads of praise on Biden for solving the problem while preserving our “humanity.”
The opportunity to sound the warning about the dire financial future America faces as a result of the left’s obsession with winning the 2024 election remains largely ignored. Where is the accountability for the annual $3 trillion in increased spending since 2019 that caused interest rates to rise so high young people can’t afford a house or car?
Where is the alarm over the $1 trillion in annual interest payments on the deficit that is impacting essential government services and the ability to defend our country?
Where are the stories about the dire situation in Ukraine that will end with a resounding defeat no matter how much money we give Zelensky and his corrupt associates?
Take note of how often you hear about transgender, climate change, CRT, police defunding and other radical policies woke leftists want to foist on you in the coming months. I bet it’s crickets. They want you to forget about all that stuff.

The left will act like moderates and suppress the bad news until after the election. Republicans still have a chance to expose the ruse, but if Biden continues to successfully deceive the American people without being called out, God help us all.
