NBC’s Absurd Decision to Fire Ronna McDaniel Once Again Shows the Left Doesn’t Believe in Free Speech for Conservatives

Cancel culture is alive and well. The corrupt national media that spent 2 years promoting baseless conspiracy theories about Trump and Russia has never once apologized for the many mistruths and outright lies they told from the minute President Trump got elected, and the sanctimonious and condescending nature of many on the left in the media was on full display this week yet again. Former Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel was formally fired on Tuesday night by NBC just weeks after being hired as a paid contributor. She was slated to make $300,000 to be an on air contributor, presumably to offer a conservative perspective in an election year.

The revolt against the hiring of McDaniel came primarily from anchors at the far-left network, MSNBC, when nearly all of the major faces of this pathetic excuse for a news station came out against the former chairwoman. Rachel Maddow, Joe Scarborough, Mika Brzezenski, Jen Psaki, and Joy Reid, all came out against the hiring of McDaniel. A likely breaking point was when the president of MSNBC News stated on Tuesday morning that that anchors at the station would not need to book McDaniel. These individuals clearly coordinated their effort to bully NBC into firing McDaniel, and only a few MSNBC anchors who did not speak publicly against the hiring of McDaniel were off this past week. The way NBC fired McDaniel was as disgraceful as their decision to let her go, and the network notified employees before telling the former Chairwoman she was not going to be allowed to complete her contract. The story leaked that McDaniel was to be fired before she was contacted by NBC.

The absurd reasoning that Maddow and other anchors at MSNBC gave for wanting to cancel McDaniel and stop her from being on the airwaves was that she was an election denier who did not accept the 2020 election, with some even making baseless claims that the former Chairwomen orchestrated an illegal scheme in Michigan to overturn that state’s decision to certify Biden as the winner of the state. These are not remotely credible arguments for multiple reasons. First, there is significant evidence of widespread fraud in the 2020 election, and despite what some on the left claim, the courts did not adjudicate Trump’s claims of election fraud because the courts in nearly every case ruled on procedural grounds that the claims of the former President were not being properly brought in the venues where his legal team was litigating these arguments, or that these cases weren’t yet ripe to be heard. Second, many on the left who appear repeatedly on MSNBC, such as Stacey Abrams and Hillary Clinton, have themselves repeatedly denied election results. Abrams has still refused to concede that she lost the 2018 gubernatorial race in Georgia, and she has also said that the election was stolen. She has presented no evidence to support either of her baseless claims. Hillary Clinton also absurdly claimed President Trump was an illegitimate President as recently as 2019 on The View, a baseless assertion the failed politician has made multiple times since losing in 2016. Both Clinton and Abrams appear regularly on this far-left network.

Maddow and others at MSNBC also repeatedly pushed many lies about the Russian hoax conspiracy for nearly 2 years after President Trump was elected as well. The far-left commentator has never once apologized for the many lies she and MSNBC told for years about Trump and his supporters with regard to the failed Mueller investigation either.

McDaniel who was only slated to be a part-time contributor, she was not going to have her own show, and her contract and salary reflected what likely would have been a fairly limited role for her on NBC and MSNBC. The real reason the anchors at MSNBC opposed the hiring of McDaniel is because she supported President Trump, and the left has never believed in free speech for people who they despise. We saw multiple social media networks censor the Hunter Biden story during the 2020 election year, and we also saw Facebook and Twitter deplatform President Trump after the 2020 election. Maddow and other anchors at MSNBC never bring Trump supporters on as guests as well. Many on the left would like to silence and cancel Trump and his movement, and this thinking has been behind the Democrat’s effort to impeach, indict, and censor the MAGA movement and its supporters for years. The irony is also that part of the rift between Trump and McDaniel, who recently stepped down as RNC chair, was the former president’s displeasure over McDaniel not aggressively pushing issues of election integrity tied to the 2020 election. McDaniel has never been indicted, accused, or convicted of any crime, and she was also never been one of the most outspoken people about the legitimacy of the 2020 election results. The disgraceful firing of McDaniel is further proof that the left does not think there is any place in America for President Trump or his supporters.
