Planet Fitness Needs To Return To Planet Earth
The expression go woke, or go broke has proven to be a truism for companies like Anheuser Busch, Target, and others. Now, we can only hope that the same fate consumes Planet Fitness.
At a location in Fairbanks Alaska, a woman walked into the women’s locker room and discovered a man standing in front of a mirror shaving. The woman, Patricia Silva, approached the man and told him that he did not belong there. Silva also noticed that a young girl, whose age she estimated to be around 12 years old, was in a corner of the room and was obviously uncomfortable with his presence.
After her confrontation with the man, Silva reported the incident to the staff. Unfortunately, the woke individuals ignored her concerns, refused to reprimand the man, and instead terminated Silva’s membership.
Shocked by the company’s decision, Silva posted her account of the incident on X:
“Good morning at eight degrees below zero in Fairbanks, Alaska. Day Two of Planet Fitness saga. I came in Monday, there’s a man in the women’s locker room shaving. A little girl sitting in the corner. She could have been twelve years old. I don’t know how old she was… in a towel kind of freaked out that there was a man shaving in her locker room.”
“Well, I was offended. I took a picture of him, and I asked him, ‘Why are you there? You’re a man with a penis, why are you in the women’s locker room?’ And he justified by saying, ‘I’m queer LGB,’ and I said, ‘You shouldn’t be in the women’s locker room.’ Well, I left and as I said this morning I got canceled. Planet Fitness is defending the man in the women’s locker room… the man with a penis rather than the child sitting in the corner with the towel wrapped around her.”
“So, people I just want you to know this is weird, it’s not good. It’s rather disturbing. So, I would like for you women to stand up and have a voice and stop these shenanigans. You have authority. Use your authority. I took that picture because I was, I was… I felt like I was in a… I felt like I was in an unsafe space and so… I’m probably gonna go report this to the police today but I just want to tell Samantha and Joe that work there and own it, thank you so much for canceling my membership. You saved me the trip. Have a great day… bye, bye.”
This is not the first time that Planet Fitness has handled a situation like this inappropriately. Several years ago, in Michigan, the company terminated the membership of a woman after she complained about a transgender being in the women’s locker room. She was informed that Planet Fitness employs a “no judgment policy” that allows people to use locker rooms based on “their sincere, self-reported gender identity.”
On the company website, they state their policy in this way:
“Planet Fitness is more than your neighborhood fitness center. We are the Judgement Free Zone®. At Planet Fitness, we celebrate and champion diversity and provide an environment where everyone feels accepted, respected and like they belong. Planet Fitness prohibits discrimination and harassment that is based on gender identity or gender expression in the workplace and in our clubs.”
Libs of TikTok took up the fight for Silva on X. They posed this question on the site:
“Woman in Planet Fitness claims she went into the bathroom and this man who thinks he’s a woman was in there shaving. Why does @PlanetFitness allow men to use the women’s bathroom and invade women’s private spaces??”
In a second post, they reported the cancellation of Silva’s membership and reiterated their question about Planet Fitness’s policy:
“UPDATE: The woman who exposed a man shaving in an Alaska Planet Fitness women’s locker room with a 12-year-old present just had her membership revoked. Why is @PlanetFitness prioritizing a man with a p*nis using a woman’s private space over women’s and girls’ safety?”
Planet Fitness is standing resolute behind a woke policy that endangers women and young girls who are members of their gym. The irony is that by doing so, they are violating the policy stated on their website. The women and girls who are forced to share a locker room with a biological male are not in “an environment where everyone feels accepted, respected, and like they belong.”
There are common sense limits to everything. Policies like this that honor the rights of a depraved and delusional few over the rights of the stable-minded majority, need to be exposed and eliminated.
