A Teen Phase Is Not A Life Decision, The Lie Of Gender Dysphoria

Childhood and adolescence are important developmental stages that precede adulthood. Like other creatures in nature, young people must overcome various challenges and difficulties as they mature. Unlike animals in the wild, most of these obstacles are social rather than physical in nature. In most cases, the actual danger lies in the choices we make rather than the physical threats that are present in our daily lives.

Most of us who still consider rational thought as beneficial, believe that gender dysphoria is something that truly doesnโ€™t exist. Like most teenage misconceptions of life, teens believe they know more than anyone else, this thought process has been fueled by the left to an almost unimaginable proportion. In the case of this delusion, many adults who would normally correct adolescent thinking, reinforce it into a state of reality that threatens the individual’s future.

Fortunately, there are individuals who are seeing through the trend of wokeness and are examining the reality of this phenomenon. A study conducted in the Netherlands tracked 2,772 adolescents from the age of 11 to 26. The participants were asked to rate their mental and physical health every three years for 15 years. They were also asked to assess how much they agree with the statement โ€œI wish to be of the opposite sexโ€ using the Youth and Adult Self-Report (YSR). A team of researchers analyzed the data from the Tracking Adolescents’ Individual Lives Survey (TRAILS) to determine the level of “gender non-contentedness.”

According to a study published in the peer-reviewed Archives of Sexual Behavior, around 67 percent of children who identify as transgender will eventually embrace their birth sex by their mid-20s. Researchers found that people who have low self-esteem and other mental health challenges are more likely to continue to identify as transgender. The study also revealed that the vast majority, 78 percent of people, never experienced any gender dysphoria. During adolescence, 11 percent of participants reported gender non-contentedness, which decreased with age and was at 4 percent at the last follow-up around age 26.

According to a recent study, adolescents were found to be 950 percent more likely to feel better about their sexual orientation than to feel worse about it. Only 2 percent of participants reported an increase in gender non-contentedness, while 19 percent felt a decrease. The study also revealed that females were more likely to experience a worsening of their gender confusion over time.

Experiencing more severe gender dysphoria as an adult is also linked to lower self-worth, more emotional and behavioral issues, and a non-heterosexual sexual orientation.

The study concluded:

โ€œGender non-contentedness, while being relatively common during early adolescence, in general decreases with age and appears to be associated with a poorer self-concept and mental health throughout development.โ€

โ€œThis new study simply confirms what has been known for over a decade,โ€ Jay Richards, Ph.D., told The Washington Stand. In 2013, the American Psychiatric Associationโ€™s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5):

โ€œNoted that most kids who experience distress with their sexed bodies resolve those feelings after they pass through natural puberty.โ€ Richards, who serves as director of the Richard and Helen DeVos Center for Life, Religion, and Family at the Heritage Foundation, told TWS.

Those who participated in the study recognize that it does not present any groundbreaking information. However, the study stands out as no other research has followed the subjects for such an extended period. The researchers are aware that their findings align with the best available literature. In fact, they have established connections between their findings and other studies conducted in 2016 and 2021. They wrote:

โ€œThe few longitudinal studies that have been conducted in a clinical setting found low persistence rates of early childhood gender dysphoric feelings into adolescence and adulthood.โ€ The 2021 study found Boys clinic-referred for gender identity concerns in childhood had a high rate of โ€œdesistance.โ€

According to Richards, in this and previous studies, it has been found that minors who are administered puberty blockers as a way of gender affirmation are highly likely to progress to taking cross-sex hormones such as estrogen and testosterone. Research indicates that up to 93 percent of children who start on puberty blockers will eventually receive cross-sex hormone injections. Experts in the field argue that the transgender industry’s early medical intervention in such cases only intensifies and prolongs feelings of gender dysphoria that may have otherwise subsided on their own.

.โ€œThis is what makes โ€˜gender-affirmingโ€™ (that is, sex-denying) medical interventions on minors such a medical atrocity. These interventions fast track troubled kids onto a path to sterilization and lifelong medical problems.โ€

โ€œThis new Dutch study reminds us that children are being subjected to experimental medical interventions to treat what, in most cases, is a temporary psychological state. This is a grotesque perversion of the medical maxim to โ€˜first, do no harm.โ€™โ€

There are many other issues associated with the treatment. Leor Sapir, a fellow at the Manhattan Institute, at The Hill wrote:

โ€œPermanent sterility is guaranteed for minors who go through full hormonal โ€œtransition.โ€ Sexual dysfunction appears to be extremely common as well.โ€

So-called โ€œgender-affirming hormonal treatmentโ€ (GAHT) causes โ€œpermanent physical changes including excruciating genital growthvaginal atrophy and tearing and much higher risk for cancer and cardiovascular disease.โ€

Sarah Parshall Perry of the Heritage Foundation said this study, along with others, proves that children require time, not gender-affirming medical procedures.

The authors of the latest study said that they expect their discoveries to assist teenagers in understanding that experiencing some doubts about their gender identity and general identity is typical during this phase of life and that it is also relatively prevalent. This should also assist clinicians who mainly deal with individuals who have intense gender dysphoric feelings by providing them with some context.

A growing number of young individuals, who were subjected to transgender ideology at pediatric gender clinics, are now sharing that they wish they had known how common and fleeting feelings of transgenderism can be.

Prisha Mosley, a detransitioner who now works with the Independent Women’s Forum, states that โ€œyoung people, particularly young women, are highly susceptible to social contagion.โ€ She believes that this demographic is the most susceptible. She told Laura Ingraham Thursday evening:

โ€œAs for the 1 percent who continue to feel this way, they deserve ethical and data-based mental health care. I had actually been seeking mental health care and services for trauma and other mental illnesses that were diagnosed prior to my gender dysphoria diagnosis for several years. But as soon as I heard about gender ideology online and expressed to my doctors that I felt I was born in the wrong body, I was immediately fast-tracked.โ€ She said it took her โ€œalmost 10 years after getting my diagnosis for Borderline Personality Disorder to find a dialectical behavioral therapist to treat it, but it was less than two years to go from hormones to a double mastectomy and transition.โ€

Mosely then proceeded to warn parents against the predatory transgender industry, cautioning them to be aware of:

โ€œthe way people are manipulating and breaking down languageโ€ on the gender issue. โ€œThen do your best to prepare your children for that. Maybe tell them that there are tricky people out there who will twist language and manipulate them because, unfortunately, itโ€™s true. Sometimes these predators, these people, theyโ€™ll wear pins that say, โ€˜Youโ€™re safe with me,โ€™ and all of that, but that can oftentimes be a signal that youโ€™re not safe.โ€

The bottom line is this. What the left wants to pass off as gender affirming care is really โ€œa gender transforming affair.โ€ The lie that if a child doesnโ€™t transition, they will likely commit suicide is a total falsehood. In fact, the exact opposite is true. As this study demonstrated, if the delusion of gender dysphoria isnโ€™t encouraged and, in many cases enabled, the child moves forward and lives a happy and healthy life as they should, as their birth sex.

Biology and science canโ€™t be denied. Perhaps the left that loves to scream follow the science on ridiculous conspiracies such as climate change, should follow their own advise on what canโ€™t be denied, โ€ฆ TWO GENDERS!
