Never JD Vance: Mike Pence 2.0?
We’re only a month out from the 2024 Republican National Convention (RNC), and there are many potential candidates for President Trump’s Vice-President slot.
Some of the top candidates for Trump’s VP include Senator Tim Scott, North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, Congressman Byron Donalds, and Senator Marco Rubio.
Unfortunately, most of the people in Trump’s VP sweepstakes are Establishment Republicans. The sad reality is that the Republican Establishment has co-opted the MAGA movement in recent years––especially when you look at the people who’ve become Trump’s closest allies and confidantes.
However, there is one potential VP candidate that “America First” patriots to need to be wary of: US Senator JD Vance.
JD Vance initially rose to prominence in national politics following the release of his bestselling memoir Hillbilly Elegy in 2016. Then in 2022, Vance won the Republican nomination to replace US Senator Rob Portman’s seat and then defeated Democrat candidate Tim Ryan in the general election.
In less than two years, JD Vance rose from political candidate in 2022 to a potential VP pick for Trump in 2024. Strangely enough, not too many people know about JD Vance’s questionable past before he ran for office in 2022. Many consider Vance to be one of the top VP contenders in 2024, so we need to spread awareness about some of the major issues surrounding JD Vance.
Fr today’s article, we will discuss three reasons NOT to support JD Vance as Trump’s Vice-President pick:
#1 His Rabid Antipathy for Trump supporters in 2016 & 2017
JD Vance was a rabid anti-Trumper back in 2016. He became a media darling of the “fake news” media for attacking President Trump following the release of his book Hillbilly Elegy (2016). In fact, Vance made many appearances on CNN, PBS, and other anti-Trump media outlets where he’d routinely criticize Trump supporters.
Even CNN has pointed out Vance’s sudden flip-flop on Trump from rabid anti-Trumper to staunch Trump defender over a the past several years. After the 2016 election, Vance also worked as CNN contributor between 2017 and 2018.
Here are a few of the incendiary comments that Vance directed toward Trump supporters in 2016 and 2017:
It’s not just that Donald Trump doesn’t speak to issues of special concern of minority voters or Black voters, it’s that he seems to like actively antagonizing a lot of the Black voters” -Vance (2016)
“There is definitely an element of Donald Trump’s support that has its basis in racism and xenophobia” -JD Vance (September 2016)
“Definitely some people who voted for Trump were racist and they voted for him for racist reasons,” -JD Vance (Feb 2017)
To top if off, Vance deleted his most critical tweets of President Trump, but these tweets were archived on the Internet archive website.
Should America First patriots trust JD Vance? Should we want a former CNN contributor and former rabid anti-Trumper as Trump’s Vice-presidential pick this year?
JD Vance has apologized for his anti-Trump rhetoric in the past, and he now regularly defends President Trump on many hostile media networks. That being said, can we really know if Vance’s support for Trump is genuine or just politically expedient.
#2 Vance’s Biggest Megadonors: Peter Thiel and the Mercer family
Unlike President Trump, JD Vance did not fund a significant portion of his first political campaign in 2022. The only reason Vance was able to run for US Senate in 2022 was due to the significant financial contributions of megadonor billionaires Peter Thiel and the Mercer family.
For those who don’t know. Peter Thiel is a tech billionaire who co-founded Paypal and Palantir. Thiel also served on Facebook’s Board of Directors from 2005 until 2022.
Thiel’s company Palantir is a multi-billion dollar data company with deep financial ties to the CIA and other government intelligence agencies. In fact, Palantir won a $800 million contract with the Department of Defense in 2020.
Besides his concerning business connections, Thiel was not originally born in America. Thiel is a German-born citizen who later became a naturalized US citizen and also obtained a New Zealand citizenship.
With this information in mind, we can now see that Vance’s primary political donor is a dual-citizen tech billionaire who holds financial ties to the Intelligence community via Palantir. Can Vance be truly “America First” with such direct connections to the Deep State?
#3 Voting for CIA officer Evan McMullin over Trump in 2016
In 2016, JD Vance voted for former CIA officer Evan McMullin. Prominent anti-Trump Republicans supported McMullin to run as an Independent candidate in 2016 in order to spoil a potential Trump victory. In the end, McMullin did not get ballot access in most states and did not make a tangible impact in the 2016 presidential election.
Overall, JD Vance’s track record between 2016 and 2018 is highly concerning. His vote for Evan McMullin, his heavy criticism of Trump supporters, and financial backing from Peter Thiel are all major red flags that we must acknowledge.
I do NOT support JD Vance as Trump’s Vice-Presidential pick for the 2024 election and neither should you. Vance is not trustworthy for the aforementioned reasons.
President Trump cannot afford a Mike Pence 2.0, and JD Vance is the candidate who most resembles Pence due to Vance’s questionable background.
