A Smorgasbord Of The Bizarre, Questionable, And Infuriating
The American mainstream media is a cesspool. They see themselves as the chosen, which is hilarious when you consider that they rarely have a cognitive thought of their own. They are told what point of view to have, and only then can they enhance it. If you havenโt already done this on your own, flip through the MSM channels and see how similar their slant on the โnewsโ is. It isnโt only similar in topic or leftist lean; in many cases, what they say is verbatim compared to the other channels. So much for journalism; itโs all about stirring the pot and gatekeeping the Democratic/liberal agenda.
Not everything in this column will be about the mediaโmost of it willโbut we must also allow others to expose themselves. For our exercise, we are going to focus on the assassination attempt against Donald Trump on Saturday, which brings us to our first point of contention.
If you are an ex-president, the preemptive current candidate to win your partyโs nomination, and the favorite to be again elected President of the United States, and someone fires a weapon at you, that is called an Assassination attempt.
Think about this straightforward fact. If someone has a rifle and is firing it at a presidential candidate, OF COURSE, ITโS AN ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT! So, why will no one in the mainstream media use that term? Why are there headlines that say, โTrump Shooting Is Being Investigated As An Assassination Attempt?
What else could it be? Iโm filing these examples under infuriating. This is the MSM trying to downplay the obvious. They know what this is, but they refuse even to say or write the word assassination. Telling the truth, especially in this case, frightens the Democrats. They constructed the atmosphere that allowed this to happen, but they think avoiding that one word will de-escalate the situation.
It won’t.
Now, onto the bizarre. In the wake of Saturday’s assassination attempt on Trump, the Rhode Island Police decided that they needed to divorce themselves from any involvement in what took place.
The department posted on X:
Hmm, I had my eye on Idaho, but nothing from them so far. IMHO, that is a bizarre posting. Why did the Rhode Island State Police think it necessary to post that message on X? Is it a guilty conscience, or is something else yet to come? Hey, I had nothing to do with it either, but It didnโt cross my mind to absolve myself of blame by posting on X.
Rhode Island, weโre watching you.
Letโs move down the line to questionable. Itโs been revealed by Susan Crabtree of Real Clear Politics that the Secret Service decided to shift critical resources to guard Jill Bidenโs campaign event in Pittsburgh and away from President Trumpโs rally. Both were held on Saturday
Two sources informed her this was due to the agency’s protocol of treating Trump as a โformer president.โ This is the case even though this “former president” is the frontrunner to become the United States’s next president and has the country’s largest political following.
Additional agents from different field officers (not part of Trumpโs regular detail) provided security at the rally. Trumpโs regular detail has been overworked, with some agents working seven days straight and only two counter-snipers.
Trumpโs usual protective Secret Service detail worked so hard, 7 days a week with no days off. (Itโs called campaigning, Joe.) Many of the agents assigned on Saturday were temporary replacements from different field offices.
This is not the usual protocol for sitting presidents and vice presidents but โtypicalโ for former presidents, although no former presidents have rerun in modern history.
โTrump has a permanent detail. However, itโs much smaller in the number of bodies,โ the source said. โHis detail has been worked so hard with all the travel that theyโre working 7 days a week with shift changes. So, HQ sends in temp agents to supplement โ not a good scenario. Mission Failure, IMHO.โ
While weโre on the subject of the Secret Service, why were there so many female agents? Unfortunately, the answer is the same as in many other institutions: Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). The Secret Service has identified “diversity” as a top priority, and its director, Kimberly Cheatle, appointed by President Biden in 2022, has committed to significantly increasing the number of women in the organization.
To put it simply: women are not needed in a president’s security team. The Secret Service is a highly selective organization that can screen numerous candidates to choose the few who will safeguard the president. The top candidatesโthe strongest, fastest, and best marksmenโwill be men. That’s just the truth.
The Secret Service is determined to bypass this reality. The agency has published its fitness standards in two parts: one for men and a separate, less demanding one for women.
After the shooting, as Trump was guided toward his vehicle, the female agents appeared discombobulated. One female agent fumbled with her gun and could not find her holster; another female agent appeared confused and, in the moment of crisis, decided to use both hands to put on her sunglasses; and a third looked like a deer in headlights.
Last but certainly not least, let’s move back to infuriating. If youโve ever wondered how low the left was willing to go, the Denver Post has lowered the bar. After a former and soon-to-be-reelected president was wounded in an assassination attempt, this is the headline they chose to run.
R.I.P. Journalism. Is it November Yet?
