Somalia Loving, Anti–American Ilhan Omar Must Go
Violent crime is spiraling out of control in Minneapolis, much of it caused by Somali street gangs. Still, that didn’t stop the Minneapolis City Council from sponsoring the “Somali Week Festival” to celebrate Somalia’s Independence Day.
At this year’s festival, former Somali Prime Minister Hassan Khaire and U.S. Congresswoman, Ilhan Omar attended. Khaire was there to rally votes for Omar’s upcoming re-election campaign.
Had you been present at this rally, the stark contrast would have been unsettling. It felt more like a scene from Somalia than a gathering in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Not a single American Flag was in sight, and the only language echoing was Somali.
During his speech, Khaire spewed rhetoric that should infuriate every American. He openly stated what we all know about Omar’s loyalties, with her grinning like a cheesy cat and shaking her head in the affirmative while standing beside him.
“Representative Ilhan Omar who has written the name of Somalia with a gold pen. The interests of Ilhan are not Ilhan’s. It’s not the interest of Minnesota nor the interest of the American people. The interests of Ilhan is that of the Somalian people and Somalia. The success of Ilhan is the success of Somalia, and that carries a heavy meaning to us. Me speaking in the name of the Somalian people everywhere they are on the planet. I am asking that you support and give money to Ilhan’s campaign. To support her with your votes. Tell your neighbors and friends, and anyone you know to come out and support Ilhan Omar. So, they can ultimately vote for her so that she can be re-elected. What is your promise? Your promise is to come shoulder to shoulder and be Ilhan’s shield. And vote for her again. With all of you working together, thank you all. God Bless. Long live Somalia.”
Later in the rally, Ilhan danced and waved the Somalian flag with others on the stage, and the crowd did the same.
Omar has a short memory. In 1995, the U.S. granted Omar and her family refugee status after they had fled the civil war in Somalia and lived in a refugee camp in Kenya. In 2000, she was granted naturalization and took the oath to become an American citizen. Somehow, less than two decades later, she was elected to represent Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District.
Unfortunately, electing people like Omar takes place when voting districts are allowed to be almost completely taken over by certain groups of immigrants. Diversity then becomes the priority with things such as character, merit, and ethical standards taking a back seat.
Omar, an antisemite, has gone on record accusing Americans who support Israel of having a “divided loyalty.” Perhaps someone should remind this far-left member of the “squad” that she was elected to support American interests.
She also needs to be reminded that in 2000 she took the Naturalization Oath of Allegiance. That oath begins with this statement:
“I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty, of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen.”
Omar and the other remaining seven members of the Radical Democrats, who refer to themselves as the squad, have no loyalty to the safety, morals, or traditions of the United States. Based on her most recent display in Minneapolis, Omar needs to be seriously vetted concerning her commitment to the country that took her in.
There is no excuse for such open disdain for the country that has allowed her to live the style of life that she now leads. It’s a sad fact that people used to emigrate to our country because they saw it as the greatest nation in the world and they were anxious to assimilate into our society. Now they come here because it’s easy to manipulate the system and to take advantage of it. Many have no intention of assimilating, and cause nothing but dissension and hatred because they are here to exploit and not contribute.
People like Omar are a beacon for the exploiters. It’s well past time to remove her and others like her from office.
