“All That Glitters Is Not Gold,” Yet Naïve Harris Will Try

“Inflation is the most universal tax of all. Inflation is taxation without legislation. The first panacea for a mismanaged nation is inflation of the currency; the second is war. Both bring a temporary prosperity; both bring a permanent ruin.

Milton Friedman

Friedman was an American economist and statistician who received the 1976 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences for his research on consumption analysis, monetary history and theory, and the complexity of stabilization policy.

Kamala Harris is a nimrod communist/socialist/Democratic socialist/progressive. She has zero knowledge of border security, economics, domestic affairs, foreign affairs, the art of negotiation, or any other necessary expertise that a valid presidential candidate needs to possess.

Friedman also said this about inflation. Tell me if what he is describing sounds familiar.

“If you listen to people in Washington talk, they will tell you that inflation is produced by greedy businessmen, or it’s produced by grasping unions, or it’s produced by spendthrift consumers, or maybe, it’s those terrible Arab Sheikhs who are producing it. Now, of course, businessmen are greedy. Who of us isn’t? Trade unions are grasping. Who of us isn’t? And there’s no doubt that the consumer is a spendthrift. At least every man knows that about his wife.”

But none of them produce inflation for the very simple reason that neither the businessman, nor the trade union, nor the housewife has a printing press in their basement on which they can turn out those green pieces of paper we call money.”

When Harris discussed her first policy decision, she accused the food industry of “price gouging.” She is distancing herself from her administration’s decision to flood the economy with printed cash.

Now, trying to buy more votes, she’s at it again, saying she wants to give first-time homeowners $25,000 in federal down payment assistance to solve the housing crisis. In addition, she has promised to build millions of houses, change zoning laws, and, most critically, give federal money to first-time buyers. The only stipulation is that first-time homebuyers must have paid their rent on time for at least two years.

Leigh Brown is a well-known author, public speaker, and real estate expert. She discussed Harris’s real estate and housing plan in a TikTok video. Brown’s criticism of Harris’ plan to build new houses and how it federalizes zoning regulations, which for good reason is usually the responsibility of local jurisdictions and calls for rent control, another horribly bad decision along with the no-strings-attached cash for first-time homeowners, is taken to task.

“I love down payment assistance, especially when it’s done by tax credits when it’s done by bond money approved by voters. Y’all, if the federal government wants to hand people money for buying houses, that’s what causes inflation, so when you add $25,000 in ‘free money’ to a house, you just drove the cost up by $25,000.”

Harris is simply putting out shiny objects to attract voters. It’s sad that one of only two political parties in the United States would offer up a candidate so ill-equipped for the rigors of the presidential role. Their platform is based on poorly conceived pie-in-the-sky ideals that will do nothing to solve the nation’s problems.

Harris’s policies look like a pile of pick-up sticks. There is no order, direction, or logic; it’s just a mess. She needs to be hustled off the national stage as quickly as possible. Irresponsibility this bad is flat-out dangerous.
