Democrat Controlled Teachers Union Starts School Late To Brainwash Kids With The DNC
I remember writing a column a year or so ago about Chicago’s needing to hire a plumber as mayor because the city was a toilet. So naturally, it was the perfect place to hold the DNC. Inside the convention center, when the Democrats werenโt lying through their teeth, they were emphasizing death via abortion, perversion through child mutilation, and vague references to a platform that included taxes on income not realized, and attacking the food industry that would most assuredly cause supply chain disruptions and lower quality products.
Outside, they had pro-Hamas rioters, an inflatable IUD, and a mobile death center that proudly bragged about murdering 25 babies and an unknown number of vasectomies. However, their hatred of children doesnโt stop with the unborn. Obstructing the education of those who managed to avoid the abortion clinic and brainwashing them with radical leftist propaganda is also on their agenda.
Using the flimsy lie that they were accommodating the 75,000 convention visitors, the Chicago Public School System (CPS), in cooperation with the Chicago Teachers Union (CTU), delayed the start of the school year for one week. Oh, and they wanted the students to have โtime for students to attend, volunteer, and participate in the civic process of hosting the Convention.โ
Hereโs the rub: The Chicago Teachers Union (CTU) bussed students to Soldier Field on Thursday night to watch Vice President Kamala Harris accept the Democratic Party nomination.
Angela Morabito, a Fox News columnist, noted the hypocrisy of all this:
โIt is hard to imagine that Chicago Public Schools (CPS) or the CTU would have been quite so accommodating for any other party,โ she wrote. โPlus, such concern over a 75,000-visitor event seems suspect when the school district has no such concern over the cityโs annual St. Patrickโs Day festivities, which attract hundreds of thousands of revelers.โ
Doug Mayer, the spokesperson for the Public Labor Unions Accountability Committee, had this to say:
โThis is a clear example of what happens when the Public Sector Unions gain too much power. Instead of prioritizing studentsโ education, decisions are driven by political agendas. This overreach harms our kids and underscores the dangers of allowing unions to dictate whatโs best for our students.โ
Illinois Representative Darin LaHood, a Republican, pointed out that the same people who advocated for COVID lockdowns, which harmed children, are now keeping kids out of school for a week.
โThe hypocrisy of Chicago politicians and the teacherโs unions to keep students out of class to appease their friends at the DNC is astounding,โ he said. โIllinois students still lag behind because of [Democrat] Gov. JB Pritzkerโs COVID lockdowns in 2020.โ
Corey DeAngelis of the American Federation for Children is a school choice advocate, he had this to say:
โChicago Democrats, owned by the control freaks at the teachers unions, continue allowing kids to be denied an education,โ he said. โThey always put politics before the needs of children and their families.โ
โParents should be able to take their childrenโs education dollars to schools that actually care about them. Only then will the school system have an incentive to do the right thing and cater to the needs of families as opposed to the other way around.โ
Morabito, who is covering this for Fox News, said this isnโt the first time politics in Chicago kept children out of school.
โThe cityโs public schools did not completely reopen from COVID-19 until late August 2021, a full year after many other districts had successfully brought students back into classrooms.โ
She added, โThe CTU, an affiliate of the American Federation of Teachers, called reopening efforts โrooted in sexism, racism, and misogynyโ in a since-deleted tweet.โ
โA five-minute walk away from the United Center, where the convention occurred sits William H. Brown STEM Magnet School, where English Language Arts (ELA) and math proficiency rates are under 10 percentโ
โAt Robert Nathaniel Dett Elementary School, less than half a mile from the convention site, fewer than 1 percent of students are proficient in ELA, and more than 60 percent are chronically absent. Just one mile north of where Harris and Walz spoke, proficiency rates at Talcott Elementary are below 30 percent in both key subjects. These schools are not one-off examples; reading and math proficiency rates are under 30 percent district-wide.โ
Professional lunatic Randi Weingarten, the President of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), screamed and jumped around like the maniac that she was at the DNC on Monday night. Itโs people like her who swap favors with the DNC at the expense of our children. By her own admission, Weingarten spent precisely one semester of her entire career as a full-time teacher.
According to The Village Voice: Records reviewed by the Voice indicate that she taught 122 days as a per diem teacher from September 1991 through June 1994, roughly one in four days. So how does someone like that get to dictate policy for teachers?
This is another example of student abuse by the Chicago Public School System and the Chicago Teacherโs Union, all for the benefit of the Democratic party agenda. Will they get away with it? Of course, they will. The MSM will downplay it or not report it at all.
The Democratic party is evil. They are hunting, and their primary prey is the minds of our children. On November 5th, hunting season ends.
