Harris’s Discussion of Price Controls Shows the Left has no Plan for The Middle Class
The Democrat’s answer to every problem is to call Trump a White supremacist, talk about January 6th, and propose new taxes on corporations and the rich. The Biden-Harris administration has failed in every way. This radical administration has opened the border, destroyed the economy, and even divided the country further with reckless rhetoric in addition to weaponizing the FBI and the Justice department against Trump supporters and conservatives. There is a reason Harris won’t talk to the press, she and the left have nothing to offer the middle class or the country.
The Vice President’s absurd and unconstitutional proposal to try and get Congress to pass a bill giving the Federal Government the power to control what corporations charge for goods and services is yet another example of the failing and pathetic agenda the Democrats have for the American people. Harris can’t talk about raising taxes, over-regulating businesses, or destroying the fossil fuel industry that directly and indirectly employs tens of millions of people. Since the Vice President has no ideas to help rebuild the middle class, she is just taking completely untenable positions that the former Senator thinks will help her politically.
Inflation exists because costs have gone up, not because of price gouging by corporations. Gas prices, metal costs, supply chain issues, and other challenges have created inflationary pressures throughout the economy. The reckless spending by this administration has driven prices up as well. Harris is not proposing any cuts to government spending or any policy ideas to relieve supply chain issues that have driven costs up, she is simply suggesting that Congress pass a bill giving the Federal Government the power to limit what corporations charge for goods and services.
The Vice President did not say how she would determine if a company is engaging in price gouging, or what the penalty would be if a company was caught engaging in this kind of activity. Her proposal is absurd and impractical on multiple levels. When former President Trump was in power the middle class was thriving. Prices were far lower across the economy. Housing, food, and energy prices, were all under control when Trump was in office. Interest rates were also lower, which made consumer credit and housing more affordable. Credit card debt has hit all-time highs under Harris and Biden, and defaults have been rising significantly over the last year as the economy continues to deteriorate.
Trump’s economic focus is to build on his successful first term with tax cuts and further deregulation, in addition to securing the border. The former President has proposed a number of specific policies designed to lift the burden on the middle class by getting rid of the payroll tax and taxes on social security income. The former President has also proposed eliminating taxes on tips as well, which is a policy that Harris voted to oppose despite now saying that she supports Trump’s idea. Former President Trump understands that finding ways to lower corporate costs and put money in the pockets of middle-class Americans is a better approach than waging an ill-advised and unconstitutional war on American businesses. Trump’s policy proposals are clear and his record as President was strong, the former President should be able to successfully compare and contrast his economic agenda with Harris’s absurd and backwards ideas.
