Kamala Harris Kicks Woke Leftists in the Teeth

Someone has to raise the issue. Woke leftists have suffered long enough with a presidential candidate who has deceived them and kicked them to the curb.

Therefore, I’m pleased to announce the formation of a new 2024 election group called, “Woke Leftists for Trump.” I’ll be happy to serve on the organizational committee until a true woke leftist steps up to take a leadership position.

Kamala Harris Betrays the Woke Leftist Movement

Seemingly every day, Kamala Harris announces a change in policy that mirrors an item in President Trump’s platform. In most instances, leftists generally march in lockstep because they know dissension will get you canceled, but still, one can only wonder when the most fanatical elements of the Democrat party will begin to rebel at their betrayal.

Just take a look at Chameleon Kamala’s shifting positions:

Oil: The left hates fossil fuel, and especially oil, with a passion, and no one was more aggressive in the fight against the oil and gas industry than Kamala Harris. In September 2020, in the midst of her run for vice-president, Harris said this in a CNN town hall.

“Oil and gas firms are going to pay fines and they are going to pay fees. When you take away that money because you take them to court and sue them, as I have done, it’s extraordinary how they will change behaviors. They have to be held accountable.”

As California Attorney General, Harris waged a seven-year fight in the courts to establish a cap-and-trade system, which requires oil and gas refineries to pay for “offset credits.” It’s a bogus system designed to punish them for providing America with the energy it needs to prosper. Essentially, it’s an extortion scheme that does nothing but drive up the cost of energy for Californians.

As a California District Attorney, Harris was the architect of a lawsuit against Chevron, which ended in a $24.5 million settlement. She sued Conoco Phillips, BP, Volkswagen and various other fossil fuel producers.

The woman hates fossil fuel… Until now.

Oddly, without fanfare or media coverage, American oil industry production began to surge until it reached an all-time high level of 13,248 barrels a day in April 2024. Perhaps more puzzling was Harris’s recent approval of a monstrous $8 billion oil drilling project in Alaska, of all places. For climate change fanatics, this is heresy on the level of dumping garbage in Pandora, the cartoon utopian world in James Cameron’s movie, Avatar.

So, what’s going on? Either Harris has had an epiphany and realized her anti-fossil fuel policies will destroy the economy (unlikely), or she’s pandering to independents who want to save the planet but not if it means gas will be $10/gallon (way more likely).

Immigration: In recent history, Harris’s position on immigration has become decidedly more woke. In 2015, she offered this insight on her perception of illegal aliens:

“Unfortunately, I know what crime looks like. I know what a criminal looks like who’s committing a crime. An undocumented immigrant is not a criminal.”

Harris was critical of “zero tolerance” policies that placed the children of illegal aliens under the care of the Department of Health and Human Services while the parents awaited prosecution and deportation. While failing to offer any reasonable alternatives for placement of the children of criminals who enter the country illegally, Harris has consistently pandered to the illegal alien community.

She is on record as favoring de-criminalizing illegal border crossing. “I would not make it a crime punishable by jail. It should be a civil enforcement issue, but not a criminal enforcement issue. We can’t treat people like criminals.” Additionally, she favored abolishing ICE, the organization that is charged with protecting our borders. “There’s no question that we’ve got to critically reexamine ICE and its role and the way that it is being administered and the work it is doing.” Harris called Trump’s border wall a “medieval vanity project.” She claimed, “Trump’s border wall is a complete waste of taxpayer money and won’t make us any safer.”

And yet, recently, Harris has taken a much tougher stand on controlling the border. In fact, after years of supporting open border policies, Harris did a complete about face and announced her support for a bill that includes hundreds of millions of dollars for the very border wall she previously condemned. If that wasn’t enough, the bill Harris supports would also put new restrictions on “asylum seekers,” and appropriate $20 billion for new border security measures.

For woke leftists, Harris’s new anti-immigrant policies must be a bitter pill to swallow.

Medicare for All:

In 2017, then Senator Harris co-sponsored a Medicare for All bill with Bernie Sanders to provide universal health insurance for everyone. Essentially, Sanders’ bill would have gutted the private insurance market and made health care free for dead beats, drug addicts and illegal aliens who would pay nothing into the system. Wait times for health care increased dramatically when Obamacare and expanded Medicaid became law, and the overall standard of care in America declined. If universal healthcare was adopted, people would be longing for the good old days of Obamacare. It’s actually very simple. When people get free services, they use them liberally.

Here is what Harris had to say about Sanders’ bill at the time:

“Let’s give the taxpayer of the United States a better return on their investment. Why? Because Medicare for All stands for the proposition that all Americans from the day of birth, throughout their lives, will have access to health care.”

Free stuff. Leftists love creating dependency, so this was a very popular position with the Democratic base.

Yet, fast forward to 2024, and once again, Harris has abandoned her woke principles on healthcare. While she has yet to speak on the subject herself, according to a Harris campaign spokesman, Harris would take the “same pragmatic approach” as Joe Biden while “focusing on common-sense solutions for the sake of progress.” In other words, Harris says she’s sticking with Obamacare and Medicare for All is off the table.

Where is the Outrage from Woke Leftists?

While these are some of the more egregious examples of Chameleon Kamala’s shifting positions, there are others. Recently, she abandoned her demand for EV mandates, another darling of the climate change crowd.

It makes one wonder what the hell is going on here?

No one ever accused woke leftists of being particularly literate, but surely, when their candidate for president abandons them and leaves their most cherished policies lying in the dirt, they must know about it, right? Since Democrat politicians like Obama, Harris and Biden are wired for power over principle, it’s understandable why Harris would assume more moderate positions on contentious issues. Still, why are woke leftists so quiet? Where is the outrage they unleashed on President Trump for essentially the exact same policies?

Unless…

Could this be a wink-wink, nod-nod, scheme, where leaders of the woke leftist movement are told privately to grin and bear it because once Harris successfully cons the independents and is sworn in, the left will be repaid in spades with the promise Harris will fulfill all their wildest psychotic Marxist fantasies?

Nah… No one could be that sneaky, underhanded and deceitful… Could they?

I choose to believe the rank and file woke leftist movement simply can’t figure out what to do now that their leader has abandoned them. They’re like the Borg without the Hive Queen. Directionless.

That’s why I offer salvation: Woke Leftists for Trump. It’s an idea whose time has arrived.
