Adventures in Clown World: August 2024
Hello all, and welcome to another month here in Clown World. Last month had some interesting international developments that I’ve decided to highlight in the latest edition of the “Adventures in Clown World” series in RVIVR. So, you’ll get to enjoy some anti-free speech related stories in this month’s edition.
Without further ado, let’s dive right into today’s post:
#1 France wrongfully arrests free speech advocate & Telegram founder Pavel Durov
Free speech is dead in Europe. Last month, the French government indicted and arrested Telegram founder Pavel Durov, French authorities essentially arrested Durov for not fulfilling the censorship requests from the French government. Talk about a 1984-level nightmare.
Many forget that Telegram was one of the only major free speech social media platforms in the early 2020s. After every major social media company banned President Trump in early 2021, Telegram was the only social media site that President Trump remained on. Telegram was Trump’s only real online mouthpiece to the American people for roughly a whole year until Truth Social stated in early 2022.
Telegram has remained as free speech stalwart in a sea of censorship in the Western world. Let’s hope that Durov can get out of this legal mess unscathed.
#2 Brazilian judge BANS X/Twitter
Brazilian Supreme Court justice Alexandre de Moraes has been a longtime anti-free speech judge. At the end of last month, De Moraes threatened Elon Musk that he would ban the X/Twitter platform in Brazil unless Musk complied with a court order.
Last week, de Moraes ordered the shutdown of Twitter/X in Brazil after the platform did not ban the political opponents of de Moraes and the current Brazilian Regime.
Twitter/X published the tweet below in response to this situation. Clearly, Twitter/X is standing up for free speech despite the direct attacks coming from the government censors in Brazil.
#3 Illegal Alien Gang takes over Colorado Apartment Complexes
Last month, various media outlets reported on some shocking footage coming from Aurora, Colorado. According to reports, roving armed bands of illegal alien gangs have taken over multiple apartment complexes in Colorado. The Venezuelan gang members are forcing apartment tenants to pay rent at gunpoint,
Yes, you are reading this story correctly. Foreign criminal gangs are now openly extorting American citizens on American soil. Only in “Clown World” does a situation like this one occur.
What’s worse, the Mayor of Aurora has confirmed this horrifying ordeal and even stated that the city has “lost control” of the situation.
American citizens can no longer depend on the police to protect then. In “Clown World”, we must be ready to protect ourselves and our families.
