Harris Accuses Price Gouging, Then Watches Dem Run City Do It

When they aren’t outright lying, the Democrats have developed two strategies. One, they accuse conservatives of what they themselves are doing. This is known as projection, and the left uses it very effectively. Second, they love instituting a “Do what I say, not what I do” mentality. Again, they use this technique very well. By making statements either condemning or condoning something depending on the situation, they believe no one will check to see if they are practicing what they preach.

Every American has felt the pain of inflation under the current administration. Still, they will not take responsibility for the mismanagement of taxpayer funds and the flooding of currency into the market that has caused the rise in prices of everything from gas to food to clothing.

Harris, who is hiding her lack of intelligence by refusing to do interviews, still hasn’t released a specific platform. However, one nugget she did reveal was that she decided to investigate the food industry for price gouging. Mind you, it was her administration’s policies that caused the prices to spike, but for the left, it’s always easier to blame someone else.

Berkeley, one of many far-left rat traps in California, is planning to price-gouge consumers and businesses by raising the cost of installing gas stoves in residential and commercial buildings. The Wall Street Journal wrote an editorial highlighting the Democrat’s hypocrisy, stating:

“Democrats insist they aren’t coming for gas stoves, but look at how the People’s Republic of Berkeley is trying to tax them into obsolescence.”

Berkeley defended their position by telling the journal:

“It is the intent of the People to disincentivize obsolete natural gas infrastructure and associated greenhouse gas emissions in existing commercial and large residential buildings, thereby reducing the environmental and health hazards produced by the consumption and transportation of natural gas.”

“The People’ in power want to do this by imposing an excise tax on commercial and multifamily apartment buildings that starts at $2.96 per therm consumed. That’s roughly twice the U.S. average residential retail price for natural gas. It would add up to about $180 a month for a typical household’s gas consumption.”

The Journal’s editorial board explained that the policy’s purpose is to “coerce building owners to replace gas with electric appliances even though doing so is costly and in many cases impractical.”

“A mere majority of Berkeley voters need to approve the gas tax, which may be easy to secure in a city where only four percent of voters are registered Republicans. Berkeley voters will have to eat their own cooking if the gas tax passes, but crackpot coercion in California tends to spread across the country, including to Congress.”

This is another example of the left pursuing a worthless, unnecessary agenda that punishes consumers. Climate change only exists in the minds of radicals and has nothing to do with the environment; it only involves their bank accounts.
