Truth And Consequences In Springfield Ohio
Springfield, Ohio, has become the epicenter of some wildly disgusting claims. There are reports out there that illegal Haitian immigrants are snatching up pets and eating them.
The city and the police department are denying this, but regardless, something is happening in Springfield because of the massive influx of illegals. The Springfield Police told the Springfield News that the claims were โnot something thatโs on our radar right now. There have been no credible reports or specific claims of pets being harmed, injured, or abused by individuals within the immigrant community.โ
The story began at an August meeting of the Springfield City Commission when a 28-year-old man claimed that Haitian migrants were beheading ducks at local parks and then taking them home to eat.
โTheyโre in the park grabbing up ducks by the neck and cutting their head off and walking up with them and eating them,โ the man claimed, imploring the city commission to exhort control over the illegals.
Spreading online are grabs of a post made by someone in a Springfield Facebook group claiming a friendโs cat went missing and then was reportedly seen strung up and butchered in an illegal Haitianโs yard. One of the videos that went viral with the claims shows a woman who was arrested for allegedly eating a cat last month.
The clip appears to show 27-year-old Allexis Telia Ferrell, who, according to Fox 12, was charged after an August 16 rampage in which she allegedly stomped on the cat and then devoured it in front of her neighbors.
However, records do not indicate the woman is either Haitian or a migrant, and she was arrested in Canton, about three hours from Springfield.
Supporters and deniers of these claims have both taken to social media. The city and police department have both denied the claims while some citizens claim that the reports are accurate. JD Vance, an Ohio senator, was one of the first prominent politicians to escalate the reports of migrants eating pets.
He posted on X Yesterday:
โPeople have had their pets abducted and eaten by people who shouldnโt be in this country.โ
In defense of his post, a spokesperson told the Hill:
โSenator Vance has received a high volume of calls and emails over the past several weeks from concerned citizens in Springfield: his tweet is based on what he is hearing from them. The city has faced an influx of 15,000-20,000 Haitian migrants over the past four years, stressing public resources and leading to housing shortages, all thanks to Kamala Harrisโs policy of extending temporary protected status designations.โ
โMany residents have contacted Senator Vance to share their concerns over crime and traffic accidents and to express that they no longer feel safe in their own homes. Unlike the liberal media, JD takes his constituentsโ concerns seriously.โ
Musk has also joined the trend, commenting on or reposting AI-generated images of Trump saving ducks and kittens.
The elephant in the room here is that approximately 20,000 Haitian illegals have entered the city over the last four years. We’re talking about a town of around 60,000 people, whereas in 2022, 70 percent of the residents were white, 17 percent were black, and 5 percent were Hispanic. Those percentages with the influx of illegals demonstrate a substantial cultural shift.
Some social media commenters claim that Haitian immigrants eating pets is nothing more than a racist, xenophobic response to Springfieldโs changing demographics.
Erik Crew, an attorney for the Haitian Bridge Alliance, told the Hill:
โThis is the same old anti-black playbook that weโve seen for hundreds of years in Ohio being rolled out to divide and create hate, especially around election times.โ
โWhite supremacist and antidemocratic movements have always used the claim that so-called black savages are coming to destroy, especially when political power is up for grabs. This is no different.โ
Many residents and local politicians, including Vance, are outraged at the influx of illegals into the town. The Haitian population has strained the cityโs services and left legal Americans in the lurch, something Harris and Biden canโt seem to grasp.
Last August, An illegal Haitian Immigrant, Hermanio Joseph, lost control of the minivan he was driving and drove into the path of an oncoming school bus. The bus driver swerved to avoid Joseph, causing the bus to leave the roadway. Aiden Clark, an 11-year-old, was thrown from the bus and was killed when it rolled over him. Twenty other schoolchildren were hospitalized. At the time of the accident, Joseph lived in Springfield for a year and did not have a valid driverโs license. For his part, Joseph only received nine years in prison.
The idea that pets are being eaten is almost too disgusting to entertain. While it sounds unbelievable, is anything off the table in this day and age? However, that isnโt the bottom-line issue. The invasion of our border is ruining the sanctity of cities like Springfield.
Springfield is a microcosm of whatโs happening all over the nation. Biden was inept at stopping it, and Harris will be worse. It may sound clichรฉ to say that November will be the most critical election in our countryโs history, but unfortunately, itโs very true.
