Harris Panders For Union Votes Thumbs Her Knows At The Economy

On September 23rd, I wrote a column titled “A Port Strike Is Looming And Biden-Harris Are Lost At Sea.” In that column, I stated that October 1st was looming large, and the inept Democratic team was, as usual, doing nothing.

Here are a few points that I pointed out in that column:

How bad would a strike be? Disastrous isn’t too strong of a word. The union has stated that a strike could impact ports from Maine to Texas, potentially involving up to 45,000 workers at ports that handle about 60 percent of U.S. shipping traffic. According to a report by Oxford Economics, this could lead to a significant disruption in shipments.

A strike would shut down five of North America’s ten busiest ports and 36 ports in total along the East and Gulf Coasts, causing massive supply chain issues. Depending on how long the strike lasts, this would impact consumers well past Election Day and into the holiday season. If the supply chain is disrupted, resulting in scarcities, we are likely to see another nasty bout of inflation just as families are trying to recover from the nearly 20 percent spike in prices since Biden took office.

It’s unclear why Biden won’t intervene. Some speculate that he is unwilling to go out of his way to help Harris after Democrats bounced him as a candidate. Others believe he is courting the dock worker union at a time when the union vote is not going well for Democrats.

Whatever the reason, this appears to be another case of this administration mishandling a precarious situation. Industry insiders say that even a one-day strike could take a week to recover from. A strike lasting a week would require several weeks of catch-up work, and the effects of a strike lasting several weeks would be felt well into 2025. Meanwhile, retailers would experience shortages throughout the holiday shopping season, their busiest time.

Lame Duck Biden could pause the strike for 80 days under the Taft-Hartley Act, but he has indicated he has no intention of doing so, and the reason now is clear. Yesterday, Harris groveled to the striking union and, as usual, lied through her teeth about Trump’s position.

“This strike is about fairness. Foreign-owned shipping companies have made record profits, and executive compensation has grown. The Longshoremen, who play a vital role transporting essential goods across America, deserve a fair share of these record profits.”

The worst Vice President in American History then foolishly stated that Trump has made “empty promises” to workers and promised that she will “have workers’ backs” and fight for an “opportunity economy.”

“Donald Trump, on the other hand, wants to pull us back to a time before workers had the freedom to organize. Donald Trump makes empty promise after empty promise to American workers, but never delivers. He thinks our economy should only work for those who own the big skyscrapers, not those who actually build them.”

What is so insanely wrong about Harris’s ridiculous statement is that she knows nothing, zero, zilch, nada, about the economy or how to rescue it. Trump, on the other hand, had the American economy roaring for ALL AMERICANS until the Democrats sabotaged it with their crushing “Plandemic.”

What Harris didn’t mention is that the dockworkers’ union has donated more than $1.6 million to Democrats under the union president Harold Daggett, who arrogantly stated that he would “cripple” the economy if the dockworkers did not get the contract they wanted. Daggett made $728,000 last year, plus another $173,000 as president emeritus of the New Jersey local.

So, Kamala, remind us again which party is kowtowing to the wealthy?

She also conveniently failed to mention that under Daggett’s pompous leadership, the union rejected a last-minute deal from port ownership, which offered the union a nearly 50 percent wage raise. The reason is that the union is demanding zero port automation, yet she accuses Trump of wanting to pull people backward in time.

The truth is that Harris is the first Democratic presidential candidate in nearly 30 years not to receive the Teamsters’ endorsement. Internal polling found that almost 60 percent of the union’s 1.3 million members support Trump.

We all know that Trump is a master negotiator, and if he had been in office, this situation would have been settled weeks ago. Biden and Harris are both so incompetent that they had no clue how to handle this even though everyone could see it coming.

Now, with the strike upon us, they are willing to throw Americans under the bus, create more shortages, and raise inflation even further, all for the pitiful reason of gaining some votes and attempting to remain in power.

The MSM is pushing the narrative that this election is close; it is not. They want Americans to think that so if they can once again swindle Harris into office, no one will suspect anything.

America is not blind or stupid. If this election is even remotely close, it is only because of the Democrats’ ability to cheat. Three weeks before they finally kicked Biden to the curb, polling indicated that Americans considered Harris the worst vice president in American history. Are we now expected to believe that those same voters who found her incompetent then now want her as president?

This election can be boiled down to proven competence vs. smoke and mirrors. Next month, either the smoke will be cleared and the mirrors broken, or America as we know it will be lost.
