Dems Never Learn, NY Rep Calls Hochul “The New Joe Biden”

Although I am not a fan of Kathy Hochul, I wonder how she feels about being called “the new Joe Biden.” After all, Biden’s faculties had deteriorated to a middle-school level, and that may be being generous. The befuddled “Sleepy Joe” consistently proved that he couldn’t even read from a teleprompter, wandered aimlessly around the stage after speaking, tried to shake imaginary hands, and often stumbled going up and down stairs.

Every Democrat knew that Biden wasn’t fit to be president, as did the MSM, but they all denied it, hoping to keep their hand-chosen puppet around for another run. When Biden disintegrated during his debate with Trump, the jackass party knew the jig was up. With nowhere to turn, they reached even deeper into Darwin’s waiting room and pulled out the totally incompetent Harris.

Now, instead of doing some honest self-evaluation, there are Democrats who still believe Biden would have been a winning choice even though his administration had the exact opposite effect of that of the Midas touch.

Enter Ritchie Torres (D-NY), who called New York Gov. Kathy Hochul “the new Joe Biden.” In a post on X, Torres posted:

“Kathy Hochul is the new Joe Biden. She may be in denial about the depth of her vulnerabilities as a Democratic nominee. Waiting until it’s too late gave us a Republican President in 2024 and could give us a Republican Governor in 2026. Let’s avoid repeating history and avoid sleepwalking toward impending disaster and defeat.”

According to Spectrum News NY1, the congressman reportedly showed interest in running against Hochul for governor.

In an interview with Spectrum News NY1, he stated that there is a “leadership crisis in America,” which is particularly evident in New York. Although the lawmaker mentioned that he has made “no final decision,” he suggested that the support President-elect Trump received in New York—a traditionally Democratic state—during this election cycle is indicative of a “vote of no confidence in the leadership of New York state.”

The New York Times reported that Trump gained 95,000 votes in New York City, securing 30 percent of the city’s total votes. This marks a 7-point increase compared to his 2020 results in the state. Additionally, there are now 12,000 more registered Republicans and 230,000 fewer active registered Democrats in the city than there were in 2020, according to the Times.

“I will confess that I’m hardly an expert on every county in New York. But I look forward to traveling throughout the state. I hope to embark on a listening tour and find out about the needs of New York state.” He told the outlet that the “unpopular” incumbent “could easily lose to Mike Lawler” as the GOP representative is considering his own gubernatorial bid.

Torres added, “The case could be made that we need a Democrat who can win a general election, not an unpopular Democratic incumbent who is in grave danger of losing to a Republican for the first time in 30 years,”

As the Democratic National Committee prepares for a leadership change, with Chair Jamie Harrison expected to step down and not seek another term, the congressman also criticized the “far left” for its treatment of Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro.

In a post on social media, Torres wrote:

“Even though the most promising path to 270 electoral votes runs through Pennsylvania, the far left has chosen to launch a smear campaign against Josh Shapiro, the highly popular Governor of Pennsylvania.”

“The far left went on a crusade against Governor Shapiro simply because he dared to speak out as a Jew against antisemitism in the wake of October 7th. Never mind that the presidential race could have been decided by a single vote in Pennsylvania. Its hatred for Donald Trump was exceeded only by its hysterical hatred for Israel and any Jew who dares to identify with it.”

“In the end, Pennsylvania did not matter because we lost all the swing states. But the antisemitism aimed at Josh Shapiro should be neither forgotten nor forgiven.”

This sounds like Torres wants to move Hochul out for his own run for governor. This is a small example of the Democrats starting to eat their own. Torres is correct about the attacks on Shapiro, but he’s kidding himself if he thought naming him as a running mate would have saved Harris. Harris is a brainless anchor who is tied to the Democratic party.

No matter who the Democrats run, until they wake up to the reality that their far-left denial of fundamental truths doesn’t align with mainstream Americans, they will remain lost in the political desert.

Frankly, I prefer them to be lost. After all, they were never meant to be America’s guiding light, so let’s let them wander.
