Democrats, Dummies, And DeLauro, Oh My!
Last week, a real Democratic Screwball Representative, Rosa DeLauro (D-CT), was in rare form. With her hair-colored purple, the 81-year-old liberal hag got up on the house floor and ranted first about Elon Musk stopping the pork-filled original American Relief Act of 2025. Sarcastically calling him โPresident Musk,โ she failed to mention that the original bill that was voted down was reduced from 1,547 pages to 118 pages.
A few days later, she was on her soapbox again, this time trying to patronize women by insisting on female crash dummies. As soon as I heard she was crowing about this again, I remembered I had written a column about that subject on April 21st last year. At that time, worthless Pete Buttigieg acted as the lead whiner about the subject, and DeLauro was his head cheerleader.
That column covered a lot of information on the subject, so rather than reinventing the wheel, I am providing that column again here.
One Dummy To Another, Buttigieg Spends $20 Million Taxpayer Dollars On Female Crash Dummies
Two things are glaringly obvious. One, the U.S. government can piss more money away than any institution on the planet, and two, Pete Buttigieg is one of the most unqualified people ever at his job.
In one of the most ironic situations I can remember, you have a dummy lobbying for more dummies, with another dummy acting as his cheering session.
Yesterday, Buttigieg hauled his useless butt to another House appropriations subcommittee meeting to request $20 million from Congress for โฆ. Female crash dummies.
My issue with this isnโt what you may think. Statistically, females are injured more seriously than men in severe crashes. However, the reasons for that are already known. For instance, women are generally lighter than men, so they are thrown forward at a higher rate of acceleration. This causes both seatbelt and more frequent whiplash injuries. The remedy for this is softer or more pliable seat backs. Another problem is that women are generally shorter than men, so they must sit closer to the steering wheel to operate the pedals. Depending on the vehicle, some manufacturers consider this positioning to be โout of positionโ driving.
My problem with this is the obvious grandstanding by Buttigieg and other Democrats. Immediately, Representative Rosa DeLauro from Connecticut became Buttigiegโs cheering section:
โThis will start to fight the gender inequity among vehicle safety and crash victims.โ Then, quickly taking her share of the credit, DeLauro added, โThis is an area Iโve written to you about.โ
According to the DOT, the money would ” improve accessibility for people with disabilities and research on the effect of vehicle size and weight on pedestrian safety.โ
Isnโt it interesting that EVERY SINGLE DEMOCRAT in the House voted against a bill that would keep biological men from competing against women in sporting events but suddenly care so much about female crash dummies?
This is nothing more than a distraction, a very weak attempt by uncaring Democrats to look like theyโre throwing women a bone.
Crash dummies have traditionally been built to replicate the height and weight of an adult male, but those are parameters, not gender. The dummy is not a male. Similarly, child dummies are built to replicate the approximate size and weight of a 12-year-old girl. The height of 4 foot 8 inches and corresponding weight are parameters; the dummy is not female.
As I stated earlier, car manufacturers are already aware of the issues that cause women, because of their physical makeup, to be injured more severely in crashes. They know the design changes that need to be made; the question is, can those changes be incorporated into the manufacturing process without sacrificing safety in other areas?
It’s a joke that on the same day Democrats voted against maintaining fairness in womenโs sports; they would pretend to give a damn about female test dummies.
It is appropriate, though, that the Biden administration used one of their favorite tools, Buttigieg, to orchestrate this clown show. After all, he was the one who took two full months off for โmaternity leaveโ in the middle of a supply chain crisis.
Drive Safely.
