Liberal Justice Is Blind, Deaf, Dumb, And Biased
When it comes to dispensing justice, the left runs the whole gamut of insincerity. From not prosecuting those who need to be prosecuted to covering up for others and then pursuing some unjustifiably with unrelenting vengeance.
Yemi Mobolade was running for mayor of Colorado Springs last year when one of his campaign signs was vandalized. The “N” word was scrawled across the sign, and a shabbily made cross was set on fire in front of it. A video showing the sign and cross was sent to the news media in an effort to encourage Black voters to support Mobolade, an African immigrant. Mobolade, a left-wing candidate, ultimately won against a white Republican in a closely contested election in the conservative-leaning city.
The FBI investigated because the whole case reeks of a Jussie Smollett-like hoax. However, when the FBI referred the case to the DOJ, they came to Mobolade’s aid.
“The initial response from the Department of Justice was ‘we can’t indict the first black mayor of Colorado Springs,’ an FBI official said, adding, ‘In my experience, if anyone had been in that position, they would have been charged with lying to a federal agent.”
Last month, Colorado’s U.S. Attorney’s Office (USAO) indicted three individuals for conspiring to orchestrate a hoax display. Interestingly, the USAO’s press release regarding the indictment mentions that the current Mayor, Mobolade, is Black. However, it does not disclose that the ringleader, known as “Phoenixx Ugrilla,” is also Black. Additionally, Ugrilla has a history of attempted murder of police officers in a different incident and was recently convicted of murder in another case. Notably, Ugrilla is also a supporter of Mayor Mobolade.
According to the indictment, Ugrilla messaged Mobolade both before and after the hoax. One month before the election, the supporter who orchestrated the hoax texted Mobolade, “I guarantee the finish.” This was one of five messages Ugrilla sent to Mobolade, which also included post-election texts like, “We got you through it all, brother,” and “Another time, though, we will handle business.”
Yet, those facts are also omitted from the USAO press release.
Following the indictment, the Daily Wire reported that an unnamed FBI official stated the FBI urged the United States Attorney’s Office (USAO) and Department of Justice (DOJ) to indict Mobolade. Mobolade reportedly met with the FBI twice and “strenuously denied” any contact with Ugrilla. According to the FBI official, there were “dozens of messages” exchanged between Ugrilla and Mobolade. Additionally, the indictment does not include Mobolade’s responses to those messages, which is disturbing.
The troubling implications of these revelations are overshadowed by the fact that Mobolade repeatedly lied to the FBI about his interactions with the violent political supporter and hoaxer.
Lying to local and state law enforcement officers in Colorado is not a crime. However, lying to the FBI or any federal agency is a serious offense that can lead to imprisonment. Under 18 U.S.C. § 1001, it is illegal for anyone to knowingly and willfully make false, fictitious, or fraudulent statements to federal agencies like the FBI.
Mobolade’s actions meet the requirements of lying to a federal agency. So why did the DOJ fail to indict him? The DOJ declined to prosecute Mobolade for reasons the FBI official told the Daily Wire were political and race-based.
So, while Mobolade has so far skated through with his lies, while officials are all looking the other way, things are quite different in a small Alabama town where law enforcement seems to be possessed in their pursuit of what appears to be a childish prank.
In Ider, Alabama, someone wrote a somewhat homophobic remark in chalk on a sidewalk, and the reaction out of this “Mayberry-like” town is, to say the least, over the top.
The phrase “you gay” was written on the sidewalk in chalk, as well as a one-word racial slur, and because of that, what has all the appearances of a prank has prompted the IPD to call in the FBI, offer an award, and to investigate the sidewalk chalk as a hate crime.
The Ider Police Department is asking the public for information about vandalism at a park in Ider, which involved homophobic and racist remarks. The IPD has announced a cash reward for anyone who can provide information about the vandalism at the newly renovated park.
“IPD said that the remarks will be investigated as a hate crime and turned over to the FBI for investigation.”
Then this ridiculous statement from the city.
“Do the right thing, apologize, fix this issue, or face the consequences that we will be pushing to the fullest. The choice is yours. If the information you provide leads to an arrest, you will receive the cash reward. Don’t throw your life away for this and ruin your future, but if you don’t want to do the right thing, we most certainly will. We will not be letting this go.”
So, in Colorado Springs, a black mayor fakes a hate crime and is protected by the DOJ. It was an organized plot designed to garner sympathy to help a criminal increase voting support and win an election. Meanwhile, in Alabama, what will probably turn out to be a mindless prank carried out by a minor is being treated like the end of the world.
This is the sickening idea of leftist justice. Protect the unworthy, ignore the despicable, and turn the simple into something it isn’t. The left has given us revolving-door district attorneys and judges who protect the guilty and persecute victims.
This is not American Justice. This is liberal justice, which is to say it isn’t justice at all. Picking and choosing guilt and innocence based on political gain and racial preference is third-world governance, which thankfully ended on November 5th.
Justice is supposed to be blind to all outside political, racial, and social status influences. Liberals have turned that blindfold into a penalty flag against conservatives and a checkered flag for radical leftist ideologies.
