Trump Won the Guerilla War and Returns to Rule Washington
The United States has always had a peaceful transfer of power, except perhaps the 1864 reelection of Abraham Lincoln, which was never formally acknowledged by the Confederacy.
Yet, 2024 was different from every other election in modern history. In some ways, it felt more like the kind of victory that results from vanquishing an opponent in a war, rather than the traditional transition we usually have. Make no mistake, when a new leader takes his position based on the total defeat of the enemy, itโs a different feel than a loss at the polls in a typical campaign.
Itโs important to remember the context of Trumpโs recent conquest in light of the battle that was waged against him over the last eight years.
The effort by woke leftists to vanquish Trump destroyed the boundaries of accepted political campaign norms. Pre Trump, dirty tricks in presidential elections were relatively tame by modern standards. Highlights, er, lowlights included:
* 1856: Candidate James Buchanan suffered from congenital palsy that gave his head a slight tilt to the left. His opponent, Hohn Fremont, used surrogates to spread a rumor that the tilt resulted from Buchanan once attempting suicide by hanging himself.
* 1876: Democrat opponents of Rutherford B. Hayes spread rumors that Hayes had shot his own mother โin a fit of insanity.โ Hayesโ mother was not alive to address the claims, and despite the smear, Hayes still won the election.
* 1952: Dwight Eisenhower was a shoe in, but somehow, a leaflet claiming Adlai Stevenson once killed a young girl โin a fit of rageโ made it into the campaign.
* 1972: Richard Nixon. Watergate. No more needs to be said.
Dirty Tricks Become Guerilla Warfare
Dirty tricks in politics didnโt evolve much from the 1800s through the early 21st century. Yeah, ads have become increasingly more vicious and untruthful to the point where you wonder how someone who supposedly wants to do away with social security could be running against someone who supposedly wants to kill newborn babies, but thatโs where weโre at. Still, there is nothing in the sordid history of dirty political tricks that matches the guerilla war waged against Donald Trump since 2016, when he ran for president the first time.
Suffering extreme anxiety about the prospect of losing power, potential indictments and a deep-seated hatred, woke leftists, in conjunction with RINO Republicans, initiated a covert conflict designed to destroy Trump and the movement he was creating.
The dirty tricks turned criminal in nature, and it started with the fake Russia collusion hoax, which was knowingly funded by Hillary Clinton and the DNC. In a malevolent, sinister abuse of power and trust, the FBI planted stories in the main stream media that referenced โsourcesโ claiming Trump was a Putin operative. These fake stories were then used by the FBI as a basis to obtain FISA warrants to spy on the Trump campaign, While the FBI and Clintonโs cronies knew the charges of Russia collusion were phony, they hoped the surveillance would reveal something sinister they could use to take down Trump. Amazingly, even after the scam was exposed by the inspector general, no one ever went to prison over these criminal acts.
Next came the two bogus impeachments, which were so transparently partisan that the entire impeachment process has lost credibility as a legitimate way of exposing presidential wrongdoing.
Yet, after suffering defeat after defeat, snaky, unscrupulous leftists and Deep State Republicans werenโt done. They hauled out the heavy artillery and hit Trump with a dizzying barrage of lawsuits and indictments meant to cripple the former president. They went after his financial empire (fake business fraud trial), his reputation (fake sexual assault case), and his freedom (fake falsified business records, fake Georgia election interference, fake documents, and fake insurrection cases). As of this writing, Trump and his legal team have left the full out legal blitzkrieg by his enemies in shambles. The fake documents and insurrection cases were dismissed, the Georgia case has fallen apart, the business records sentencing is on hold while Trump appeals, and the phony sexual assault case is in limbo.
Clearly recognizing their abuse of the law enforcement and judicial systems had failed, leftists sunk to the lowest level of an organized group in the last nine decades. They started issuing dog whistles to the most extreme elements of their ideological base.
Trump is Hitler and a threat to democracy, they said.
You heard the claim repeated continuously in the 2024 election cycle from formerly respected news outlets and the Democratic presidential candidate herself. It took a while, but two nutjobs answered the call, and on July 13th and September 15th, these deranged individuals attempted to assassinate President Trump. The bullet from the first assassin hit Trump in the face, missing his skull by a millimeter.
The Enemy of America is Vanquished
Americaโs greatest enemy isnโt Russia or China, it is the woke leftist movement within America. A group so despicable there is no level they wonโt sink to in their thirst for authoritarian power. Yet, they threw everything they had against Trump, and he prevailed, and the woke movement is left in a smoldering heap of horrific policies and ideas that badly hurt America.
For the most part, the leftโs leaders are defeated and despondent. Still, old, tired and permanently brain deficient leftists like Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders will continue to rail against the injustice of it all, but no one is listening. Those within the Democratic party with insight, like Van Jones, recognize the current identity of the Democratic party is in shambles.
โI hope the party take the chance to look at the fact that we pushed all our rebels out of this party. We had a rebellion in our party in 2016, it was called Bernie Sanders. You had a rebellion in your party in 2016, it was called Donald Trump. Your rebel won, our rebel lost, and then โ since then the rebels in our party have been pushed out.โ
As Jones points out correctly, the Democratic party somehow figured out a way to alienate stalwarts like RFK, Elon Musk and Joe Rogan. In the end, it appears very few people were supportive of the unfair, dirty guerrilla war against Trump.
Trump can Rule America if He Wants to
The ability of a leader to command the respect of his followers is directly proportional to the hardships he endured to achieve to earn that respect. Mahatma Ghandi, Nelson Mandella and Abraham Lincoln are all examples of leaders who overcame extraordinary odds to rise to the pinnacle of political power in their respective nations.
Donald Trump now joins them as he prepares to assume the presidency on January 20th. The vibe is so much different than the first term. Trump has transcended the limitations of politics. His mission is now much bigger than that. He could rule America if he wanted to, and the people would welcome it, but the more deliberate, thoughtful version of Trump that has emerged after his horrific tribulations of the past eight years should give hope to every American of a free, just and bright future.
