When The Going Gets Rough, … Lower The Standards

Sigh, I’m very sad for anyone who lives where the left’s backward-thinking slime can enter into their lives. Even more tragic is when that radical slime oozes into the school system and affects the educational standards of the children.

Unfortunately, it happens much too often. Instead of focusing on real education, the left digresses into the sex lives of children forcing the American educational system to suck in the exhaust fumes of far too many other nations.

There is a witticism that states, “When the Going Gets Tough, The Tough Get Going.” However, not so much in New Jersey. Following the lead of another disastrous state, New York, New Jersey will no longer require teachers to pass a reading, writing, and math test for a teaching certificate.

The law, known as Act 1669, was passed by Democratic New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy in June as part of the state’s 2025 budget. According to the New Jersey Monitor, this legislation aims to address the teacher shortage in New Jersey. Under this new law, individuals seeking an instructional certificate will no longer be required to pass the “basic skills” test administered by the state’s Commissioner of Education. The law that removes a requirement for teachers to pass a reading, writing, and mathematics test for certification will go into effect tomorrow, Jan. 1, 2025.

How can lowering the standards address a teacher shortage unless you are now willing to hire people who can’t pass essential reading, writing, and math tests? This is insanity on steroids, and yet tomorrow, the law goes into effect. This not only represents the dumbing down of students but also the dumbing down of teachers.

New Jersey’s claims of a teacher shortage and this nonsensical solution are nothing more than an excuse to institute DEI. They are following the example of New York, which scrapped basic literacy requirements for teachers in 2017 in the name of “diversity.”

States like California and Arizona have responded to teacher shortages exacerbated by COVID-19 by lowering certification requirements. According to the National Conference of State Legislatures, they have implemented fast-track options that allow substitute teachers to transition into full-time educators and eliminate exam requirements.

The left’s insistence on lowering America’s educational standard is a priority of their sick agenda. Listen to this devious fool.

“We need more teachers,” said Democratic Sen. Jim Beach, who sponsored the bill, as the New Jersey Monitor reported. “This is the best way to get them.” According to an annual report from the state’s education department, New Jersey is particularly in need of math and science teachers.“

Teachers’ unions continue to wield significant bargaining power in some blue states, advocating for legislation that protects teachers despite not improving student learning outcomes. In the 2022-2023 school year, only about half of New York students in grades three through eight tested proficient in English and math, even though the state spends nearly twice the national average on education. Additionally, New York teachers are among the highest-paid in the country, according to the National Education Association.

Just a few months earlier, Murphy signed a similar bill into law that established an alternative pathway for teachers to bypass the testing requirement. The New Jersey Education Association, an influential teachers’ union, played a significant role in advocating for this bill, arguing that the testing requirement was “an unnecessary barrier to entering the profession.” According to the National Education Association, teachers in the state earn an average annual salary of $81,102.

So, it’s soon to be a New Year, but the left has learned absolutely nothing. They will continue to approach any problem, which they probably created in an ass-backward way. Let’s pray, despite the left’s madness, that sanity will start to be restored in the country in 2025.

Please, everyone, be safe tonight. We need all of you to fight the good fight.

Happy New Year, and God Bless.
