Will New Jersey’s Sky Have Room for Santa Claus?
Around November 18th, strange things started appearing in the New Jersey sky over Morris, Passaic, Bergen, and Hunterdon counties. These objects are considered to be drones of various sizes, and questions about what they are doing there have raised many questions. However, no answers have been forthcoming so far.
That said, there are plenty of theories, and some of them are quite interesting.
Experts suggest that the US government may be behind the unsettling flights, which could be part of a highly classified military program designed to test new technology before it is deployed in combat.
“My first guess is these are potentially government programs kept within what’s known as a ‘Special Access Program,’ which is purposely put together to keep even the most cleared people out — it truly is to keep it secret,” said Clint Emerson, a retired Navy SEAL and owner of security company Escape the Wolf.
“That’s why the government’s like, ‘We don’t know.’ They’re being truthful,” he said, adding that the circle could be as small as a dozen officials. “They don’t even know the program exists.”
The secrecy surrounding the drones has raised not only suspicion but fear. In a statement on Tuesday, Republican state Sen. Jon Bramnick said:
“The State of New Jersey should issue a limited state of emergency banning all drones until the public receives an explanation regarding these multiple sightings.”
Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-NY) told Fox News that members of the public “deserve and demand answers” about the drones.
“I’ve also reached out to FAA, to the Department of Homeland Security, and to the FBI asking for answers, and they are aware of these aircrafts. They are either unmanned aircraft or drones, and they are still trying to figure out where they are coming from and who’s behind them. But following what happened with the Chinese spy balloon, that simply is not enough.”
In addition, the mayors of 21 towns in New Jersey wrote to Gov. Phil Murphy demanding action regarding the mysterious drones.
“While the benefits of drone technology are widely recognized when used responsibly and transparently, the lack of information and clarity regarding these operations has caused fear and frustration among our constituents,” the mayors wrote. “Despite inquiries made to relevant authorities, we have yet to receive satisfactory answers about the purpose, operators, or safety protocols governing these flights.”
Sam Morris, the mayor of Mine Hill Township, told NBC News that the federal government should start shooting down drones.
“Eleven drones have gone over Picatinny Arsenal. Those drones should’ve been blown out of the sky. Why are we putting up with this?”
New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy chimed in, stating that the drones circling the skies above his state are “very sophisticated. ” He noted that “the minute you get your eyes on them, they go dark,” but he promised residents that the devices are not a threat to public safety.
“The most important point to say is we don’t see any concern for public safety.” He added that local, state, and federal authorities were investigating the unusual recurrence.
Maybe the strangest theory came from Rep. Jeff Van Drew, a Republican who told Fox News Yesterday, citing confidential sources, that the drones “very possibly could be” from Iran.
“I’m going to tell you the real deal. Iran launched a mothership that contains these drones. It’s off the East Coast of the United States of America. They’ve launched drones.”
“These drones should be shot down; the military is on full alert with this.”
The Pentagon downplayed Van Drew’s claims, insisting there is “no evidence” a foreign adversary launched the drones, but they did not provide any other explanation.
Van Drew stood firm on his claims. He even sent Biden a letter outlining “circumstantial evidence” supporting his theory. In the letter, Van Drew said:
“We have information that a sea-based Iranian drone mothership is currently missing from port and that its embarkation timeline would align with the appearance of the New Jersey Drones.”
He noted that Iran has previously sailed ships close to the US and that the country has developed a sophisticated partnership with China regarding drone technology.
“And, of course, it is the policy of the Iranian government to bring about the destruction of the United States of America. While I remain open to alternate explanations, I have not been presented a single credible, cohesive narrative except for that Iran is controlling these drones.”
The bottom line is that there has been far too much activity in the skies of New Jersey for no one to have any idea what is going on. The fact that nothing has been shot down may indicate that the U.S. Government is operating them.
That said, just because it may be our own government doesn’t mean it isn’t gathering information that may be detrimental to American citizens. I’m way past believing that anything this administration says is the truth. I’m also not convinced they are smart enough to know if we were being surveilled by another country.
Whatever is going on in New Jersey, something isn’t right. We all deserve answers, not just the people in New Jersey. If it can happen there, it can happen anywhere, so before it happens again, we need to know what’s going on.
Besides, the sky needs to be clear by the 24th. We don’t need Santa and his reindeer stuck in traffic jams.
