The Pathetic Left Isn’t Giving Up On “The Resistance,” But The Gas Is Gone From The Tank

Donald Trump’s inauguration, despite the brutal cold in Washington, DC which moved most of the festivities indoors, has been a joyous occasion.

Trump sounded an authoritative note in his inaugural address, noting that January 20, 2025 would be known as “Liberation Day” for the American people, a thorough rejection of the Joe Biden-fronted American Left.

“America’s decline is over,” Trump said in his speech.

And the Democrats in the Capitol when he said it, aside from a scowling Kamala Harris and an oblivious/humiliated Joe Biden, recognized he meant it.

But the institutional Left, the activists dripping with funding who have driven their party into the ground over the past decade and a half, wanted none of it.

Here’s a good example. A press release from the leftist pressure group Indivisible, which came to notoriety back in 2017 when it staged heckle-fests at town halls put on by Republican elected officials, threw a fit over Trump’s inaugural speech…

Today, Indivisible co-executive director Ezra Levin released the following statement: 

“Trump’s ‘day one’ agenda is a blueprint for chaos, cruelty, and corruption—ending birthright citizenship, banning federal funding for programs supporting transgender people, and so much more. This isn’t governance. It’s a declaration of war on our values and our communities.

“Fascists thrive on fear and submission. They want us to believe we’re powerless, that their victory is inevitable. But let’s be crystal clear: we will not give them the power they crave by treating their illegal and unconstitutional moves as a done deal.

“While some battles will be fought in the courts, many must be waged in the halls of Congress and the public square. This is the moment for the people to demand their lawmakers fight—not fold. Right now, we must focus on where we can delay, defang, and dismantle the most dangerous pieces of this corrupt, chaotic, and cruel agenda.

“This week, that means forcing every Democrat in Congress to make a choice on MAGA’s Dreamer Deportation Act (H.R. 29/S. 5): Will they stand up and fight for our democracy, or will they let MAGA Republicans dictate the terms? Democrats can’t afford to cower behind half-measures or excuses. If they don’t have the guts to fight this now, when it’s all on the line, they’ll be handing Trump and MAGA Republicans exactly what they want: a propaganda victory that will embolden their assault on our freedoms.

“No one has to agree on the perfect solution to immigration to recognize this bill for what it is: a cruel, unworkable, and blatantly unconstitutional power grab. This is a fight for the very soul of America. And we won’t let them win.”

Ezra Levin is patently out of his mind if he thinks the Laken Riley Act is something he’s going to hold the Democrat Party accountable for retreating on. That bill is outrageously popular; if it wasn’t, there wouldn’t be dozens of Democrat House members and 10 Democrat Senators willing to vote for it.

But the Left, and particularly the people who are funded by psychotic billionaires and foreign entities who hate America as founded, has been out of its mind for quite some time.

These people richly deserve their time in the wilderness. And they’ll get it. Because the Obama era, and the fever which spawned it, is broken and finished.

So we can see what the Ezra Levins have to say and raise a glass in laughter. He doesn’t realize just how over he is.
