The Left is Exposed again as Zelenskyy Targets his Political Opponent with his Approval Ratings Plummeting
The Left in America does nothing but gaslight. These radicals claim Trump is a threat to democracy, yet the Biden administration censored US citizens, weaponized the justice system, and impeached the current President twice for purely political reasons. The Left has tried repeatedly and unsuccessfully to market the Democratic Party to the people as an institution that is defending democracy. One of the biggest causes of the left over the last 4 years has been the Democratic Party’s support for Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Ukraine’s war against Russia. Pelosi and the Democrats joyfully waved Ukrainian flags on the floor of the House of Representatives after Congress sent hundreds of billions of dollars for a war that was easily preventable and should have ended years ago. The left also cheered joyfully when Zelenskyy came to Washington and spoke on Capitol Hill.
The reality is that while Vladimir Putin was obviously wrong to invade Ukraine, the current conflict between Russia and their slavic neighbor was preventable. Trump’s America First policy was very effective at containing Russia and his actions never risked the kind of war we see today. The current President sanctioned Putin, armed Ukraine, and also canceled the NordStream 2 pipeline that would have made Germany dependent on Russian gas. A deal that Biden revived before the war led to the destruction of this pipeline. When Biden came into power, he and his vice president Kamala Harris immediately began talking about letting Ukraine into NATO, and the organization has been expanding to Eastern Europe for some time, with the Baltic States now NATO members.
This has always been the source of hostilities for the Russians – partly because Putin sees the loss of the former Soviet republics as a national tragedy for Russia, and partly because NATO is an explicitly hostile entity creeping ever closer to his doorstep. He’s said as much, but no one in America’s ruling elite has bothered to listen.
The Democrats tried to make Zelenskyy look like a hero as the Biden administration sent hundreds of billions to his corrupt government, with most of this money being wasted. As the famous saying is, truth is the first casualty in war. The reality is that Zelesnkyy is surrounded by the old and corrupt Ukrainian oligarchs; these individuals are amongst his closest advisers. There have also been multiple credible reports, including a piece by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Seymour Hersh, detailing the systemic corruption in the Ukranian government. Ukraine has long been known as the most corrupt country in Europe.
This is why Zelenskyy’s recent decision to sanction his top political rival, ex-President Poroshenko, for absurd allegations from a stemming from facts nearly a decade ago, should concern Americans. Zelenskyy’s approval ratings in Ukraine are just 19 percent, and the president has not held elections since 2019, since the declaration of martial law prevented any elections from being held in the country. The people of Ukraine want the war to end, they don’t support the current president of the country, a man who originally ran claiming he would only serve one-term. Unsurprisingly, the same radical left-wingers who so vocally proclaimed the 2024 election was about defending democracy, have no issue with Zelenskyy refusing to hold election or using the power of the state to try to eliminate his political opponent before possible elections later this year. Most leaders on the Left never cared about the people, they were and are obsessed with power and promoting the agenda these individuals support, which included efforts to depose President Putin.
Interestingly, the framework being discussed during Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov in Riyadh on Tuesday included first a cease-fire and then elections in Ukraine before a formal peace negotiation could completely end the war.
Zelenskyy cannot win any election held today, and he knows that. The Ukrainian president is trying to weaponize the power of the state to destroy his political opponents since pressure on him to hold elections is building. While the corrupt and failed legacy media is trying to spin Trump’s recent comments and Vance’s speech on NATO as Pro-Putin, the reality is that the current president was very tough on Russia, and Trump is the one, once again, who is defending the very democratic process that many left-wing leaders privately abhor.
