Trump’s win with Mexico by Threatening Tariffs Again Exposes the Pathetic Legacy Media
The obsession on the left and in corporate media with attacking Trump and every action he takes continues. Since the current President announced he was running for office the corrupt press has falsely claimed he praise white supremacists, lied about his comments about military veterans at Normandy, and even put out false claims about Trump’s statements on issue like the crime rate. Many on the left have no respect for the American people, and these elitists think the best way to get people to not support the President is by using misinformation and outright lies.
There was almost no inflation when President Trump was in office in his first term before Biden took over. The overall rate of inflation when Trump was in office was 1.9 percent. Trump imposed tariffs on China during his first term and prices remained low, the incorrect argument that the current President’s economic policies would cause prices to rise significantly was and is a lie. Trump is not simply putting a tariff on goods, he’s imposing tariffs on nations and certain products coming from those countries. If companies in China or another country Trump imposed tariffs on tried to raise the price of a product impacted by the tariff, companies and individuals would simply buy the product from another company at a lower price in most cases. A good example of this was the significant trade between Vietnam and the US that developed after Trump imposed tariffs on China. Many businesses moved their companies from China to Vietnam, they did not raise prices.
Trump is also using tariffs strategically in a targetted fashion to create leverage to get bigger deals, like the USMCA trade agreement he successfully negotiated in his first term. The President clearly does not look at tariffs as a longer-term strategy, he sees this policy tool as a way to get countries to the negotiating table and reach better deals for the American people. Trump has also successfully used tariffs to protect key industries such as the US Steel industry from harmful dumping policies of countries such as China. This is why no one should be surprised that Trump just announced yet another victory achieved in part by the threat of using tariffs, when Mexico’s President recently stated she would send 10,000 troops to the border to help stop illegal immigration and the flow of drugs.
The legacy media destroyed what little was left of their credibility when Trump was President by lying and refusing to come remotely close to covering him or his policies fairly. The President’s successful recent lawsuit against ABC and his pending litigation against CBS over the network’s obvious and deceitful editing of an interview with Kamala Harris are more examples of this pathetic behavior by the corrupt press. The entire discussion in the national media around tariffs, the impact of this policy tool, and Trump’s true intent in threatening and imposing this policy ware completely and totally dishonest, and the results show that.
Americans have increasingly turned away from the corrupt and dishonest national media for podcasts and social media sites such as X, formerly known as Twitter. The left-wing activists pretending to be journalists continue to drive away viewers by lying about Trump and his policies, and the public no longer finds corporate media credible, as the results of the 2024 election showed. Trump’s recent victory isn’t just another achievement for him and his administration, this victory is also another sign of the irrelevance of most of the liberal media in the United States today.
