Why The Culture Wars Will Be More Critical than Ever for Trump and Republicans in Upcoming Elections
The battle of different cultures is as old as time in America. While Ralph Reed and Christian groups were very active in the 1990s on a variety of issues, ranging from abortion to sex education, the topics have shifted over time. Today, while abortion is still talked about, the fight has shifted to issues such as men competing in women’s sports. Trump recently signed an executive order that prohibits men from competing in female sports, and most states have abided by his welcomed action. Still, some states such as Maine, continue to allow men to compete in women’s sports.
There has always been a gender divide in American politics. Women have always tended to trend more Democrat than Men, and that pattern became more true after Roe v. Wade established a woman’s right to choose in 1973. The so-called gender cap has become much more pronounced with Trump. The President has done very well with men across nearly every demographic, and Trump has also done well with women in certain groups, such as in regard to females in the military, in rural communities, with Latinos, and with the working class. One of the areaa where Trump struggled the most in both of the last Presidential elections, was with women in urban and suburban communities. Harris got 67 percent of female votes in big cities, and she received 61 percent of suburban women votes.
Trump is not going to win over most women in big cities, these are some of the most liberal enclaves in the United States. Still, the President has the potential to make significant inroads with females in suburban communities, he won this demographic in the 2016 election. This is why the culture wars have so much political power for the MAGA movement, in addition to the fact that these are obviously important policy issues as well. Trump’s recent executive orders to ban men from competing in women’s sports, an action that should be common sense, is actually controversial with the absurd left in America today. Most Democrats are also afraid to stand up for Title 9, and oppose the far-left extremists who want to destroy the opportunities women and girls have in sports today. The differences between men and women physically has been biologically proven and these facts are not debatable. Men have almost 40 percent more core muscle than women, and females also have significantly more body fat as well. If men can compete with women eventually most females will get phased out of higher-level sports leagues in the US, and Title 9 will be destroyed.
The irony here is that most of the same left-wing groups that fought so hard for Title 9 are now afraid to stand up to actions of the radicals in the Democratic party who want to destroy this historic act. Trump’s support for protecting female athletes is very strong across the board, especially with women, many of whom are college-educated and living in the suburbs. Today, nearly 70 percent of Americans say that people should have to compete in sports based on their actual gender, a number that has risen by nearly 7 percent since 2021. As more men are competing with women, such as Alyssa Thomas, a male swimmer in the state of Pennsylvania, opposition to the extreme left’s absurd policies has grown dramatically. Thomas was a male swimmer who switched to compete against women and was changing in the women’s locker room next to females, many of whom were forced to take their clothes off in closets for privacy.
Trump and MAGA’s efforts to restore sanity to American culture should create significant inroads with a core demographic the President has struggled with, suburban women. Many people, including females, have already been alarmed by issues such as rising prices and out-of-control crime in major American cities run by the left, the issue of protecting women and girls opportunities in sports has the potential to be critical for Trump making further progress with one of the demographics he has struggled with the most since 2016. While a gender gap will likely remain for a number of reasons in American politics, suburban women are a key group of people whom the President should be able to make significant progress with on cultural issues.
