2 Billion Reasons For Trump To Pull A Biden And Ignore An Activist Judge
American presidents may not always agree with Supreme Court decisions, but most have refrained from openly defying its rulings since Andrew Jackson. Even Donald Trump did not take that route. However, Crooked Joe Biden canceled student debt and proudly declared that he was ignoring the Supreme Court’s landmark 2023 ruling, which deemed his earlier loan forgiveness plan illegal.
Biden said his original plan to “provide millions of working families with debt relief for their college student debt” was derailed by “MAGA Republicans” and “special interests” who challenged the plan in court.
However, the arrogant Biden wrote off another $1.2 billion in student-loan debt, bringing the total amount he has canceled to some $138 billion. That’s not as much as the $400 billion debt cancellation a 6-3 Supreme Court majority struck down but it’s still a handout to 3.9 million borrowers.
Biden smugly added, “the Supreme Court blocked it, but that didn’t stop me.”
America needs to realize that Biden didn’t cancel anything. All he did was transfer the debt from the borrowers, who benefitted from it, to the taxpayers, who will now finance it with higher taxes or interest payments on the rising national debt.
What Biden did was not only illegal but also immoral. He punished American citizens who didn’t incur the debt, trying to make himself look good by paying off the debt of people probably protesting at a college.
On the other hand, Trump is trying to save the taxpayer’s money from being pissed away by a bloated government that cannot oversee wasteful spending in astronomical amounts.
On January 20th, President Donald Trump signed an executive order suspending all foreign aid funding, most of which is managed by USAID and much of which is wasteful. Just over two weeks later, USAID laid off nearly all of its 10,000 employees, retaining only a few hundred.
U.S. District Judge Amir Ali, appointed by Biden, issued a temporary order on February 13, preventing the administration from terminating or pausing any existing foreign aid contracts. Additionally, on February 25, he ordered the administration to pay the $2 billion owed to various aid organizations for completed work.
After the Trump administration filed an emergency appeal to the Supreme Court regarding a previous decision, the justices ruled 5-4 on Wednesday that the federal judge’s ruling can temporarily take effect while the district court reviews the case’s merits.
Acknowledging that the deadline had passed, the high court called on Ali to clarify his order and consider the feasibility of any new deadline he imposed. Ali ignored this and imposed a new deadline of 11 a.m. Monday, March 10th.
“The District Court should clarify what obligations the Government must fulfill to ensure compliance with the temporary restraining order, with due regard for the feasibility of any compliance timelines.”
That majority opinion was written by RINO Chief Justice John Roberts and Associate Justices RINO Amy Coney Barrett, Elena Kagan, Sonia Sotomayor, and Ketanji Brown Jackson.
The court clearly ignored the intent of the challenge. Wednesday’s order indicated that the Trump administration only contested Ali’s deadline to unfreeze the aid rather than the order itself. So, on a technicality, this court may have just cost American taxpayers $2 billion.
Conservative Justice Samuel Alito penned a scathing letter of dissent that was backed by Justices Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh.
“Does a single district-court judge who likely lacks jurisdiction have the unchecked power to compel the Government of the United States to pay out and probably lose forever 2 billion taxpayer dollars? The answer to that question should be an emphatic No!”
“But a majority of this Court apparently thinks otherwise. I am stunned.”
Roberts and Barrett’s denial of common sense in their rulings has become worrisome. Their presence on the court is to interpret the law, not to side with their liberal counterparts at the expense of America’s citizenry.
The Trump administration found blatant areas of waste within USAID’s expenditures and implemented a 90-day freeze on spending by the Agency while reviewing whether these expenditures aligned with the president’s policies.
Several organizations, including the AIDS Vaccine Advocacy Coalition, Journalism Development Network, DAI Global, and the refugee assistance group HIAS, sued the Trump administration over the funding freeze. Some contractors and aid organizations also sued the administration, claiming that the government owes them money for work already completed.
Documents from the State Department and court filings have disclosed that the administration aims to reduce foreign aid spending by approximately $57 billion, including eliminating 92 percent of USAID grants.
According to these records, the administration intends to cut 5,800 out of 6,200 multiyear contracts from USAID and 4,100 of the 9,100 grants from the State Department.
Liberals never saw a dollar that they couldn’t wait to waste. USAID needs to be abolished because, as it is, it will never be more than a black hole with no accountability into which taxpayers’ hard-earned money is poured. There are worthwhile projects; USAID just couldn’t seem to limit sending U.S. dollars only to those.
Some people see cutting aid, even to nonsensical, worthless ideologies, as heartless and mean, and to those people I say show me another country that routinely takes its taxpayers’ money and sends it to the United States.
It’s time to trim the fat America, and Trump is our butcher of choice.
