Democratic “Wolfman” Howls At The Moon During Trump’s Speech
The Democratic mascot is a jackass, which is fitting because most of them act like one a daily basis. Al Green, a Democratic Rep. from Texas, is unique because while his party’s mascot is the jackass, he bears a striking resemblance to the Wolfman.
Last night “Wolfman Al” couldn’t contain himself. Leaping from his seat, at the start of President Donald Trump’s speech to Congress, he set a disruptive tone.
“You don’t have a mandate, you don’t have a mandate,” the Wolfman bellowed at Trump, all the while shaking his cane at the president.
Immediately, Republicans began chanting “USA, USA” to drown out the obnoxious Green. Some weren’t as diplomatic. Rep. Nancy Mace of South Carolina reportedly told Green to “sit your a**” down,” while Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia yelled “throw him out.”
Green initiated impeachment proceedings against Trump three times for non-impeachable offenses, failing to receive 95 votes on any occasion during Trump’s first term. In February, the San Antonio Express-News reported that Green, an obvious slow learner, is trying again to file articles of impeachment against Trump after the president suggested the United States take over the Gaza Strip as part of a peace settlement between Israel and Hamas.
Last night, Green apparently was fired up because he believes that Trump will eventually cut Medicaid benefits, even though Trump has no plans to do so at this time.
After repeatedly being warned by Speaker Mike Johnson to sit down and maintain the decorum of the House, he was removed from the chamber by the Sergeant at Arms.
As Green was being removed, Johnson, while banging his gavel, reminded everyone that:
“Members are directed to uphold and maintain decorum in the house and to cease any further disruption.”
After leaving the chamber, Green told reporters he would accept any punishment for his actions. He reiterated his message, stating that Trump “has no mandate to cut Medicaid” and confirmed that he is once again preparing articles of impeachment against the president.
“This is the richest country in the world, and we have people who don’t have good health care. We’ve got to do better and now we’re about to cut Medicaid, which is for the poor.”
Several Democrats, including House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, invited Medicaid beneficiaries to be guests at the joint address.
Green was not the only Democrat who protested in the chamber, although the others did so silently.
Several Democratic women donned pink dresses in protest against President Trump’s policies, highlighting that rising costs are disproportionately impacting women. Meanwhile, others were seen wearing yellow and blue ties to show their support for Ukraine, reflecting the colors of the country’s flag.
Speaker Johnson was unimpressed by Green’s immature showboating. Afterward, Johnson stated that Green should be censured by the House, one of the harshest reprimands his colleagues could impose.
“He’s made history in a terrible way,” Johnson told reporters.”
“If they want to make a 77-year-old heckling congressman the face of their resistance, if that’s the Democrat Party, so be it, but we will not tolerate it on the House floor.”
As is typical of Democrats, they are rattling their chains about something that hasn’t happened and may never happen. Green made a fool out of himself last night and tarnished the aura inside the Capitol.
We should probably consider ourselves lucky, there could have been a full moon.
