Janitor Urinates In Water Infects Co-Workers With STDs
There are things that people do that I would never even think of doing. Things that are so bizarre or disgusting that they would never even cross my train of thought until some lunatic does it and I learn about it.
Progressive has some funny commercials out now where jealous people who donโt have Progressive insurance are called โPassive Progressive.โ In one of the commercials, filmed in an office setting, one obnoxious worker makes a crack about another worker’s cologne. He then gets in deeper trouble when he makes a comment to his boss about โgetting help when you need it; I wonder what thatโs like?โ
I mention that commercial because those are the types of people we have probably all worked with from time to time. Annoying but harmless.
However, thirteen women in Houston were not so lucky. Their lives have been devastated by an unbelievably evil lunatic that did something so vile itโs almost unimaginable.
A Texas janitor at an unnamed East Houston medical office has been sentenced to time in prison after he was convicted of urinating into his co-workerโs water bottles.
However, as stomach-churning as that is, the situation is much worse. KTRK-TV, citing the law firm Abraham Watkins, reported that:
โLucio Diaz was charged with indecent assault and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, being his bodily fluids containing Herpes Simplex 1 Virus.โ
Diaz, who was arrested in August 2022, pled guilty on Wednesday and was sentenced to six years in prison, according to KHOU-TV.
In August 2022, a woman working in the office building reported a strange taste and smell coming from the office water dispenser to local authorities.
According to KHOU:
โAfter the incident, the victim started bringing her own bottles to work. If she didnโt finish them, she would leave them for the next day.โ
According to court documents:
โA few days went by after the sour water incident when she noticed the water she brought from the store also smelled nasty. She never figured out what it was but then threw the bottle away.โ
โThe victim said that in September 2022, a co-worker volunteered to make her coffee, but she told them to use the water from her bottle and not the dispenser. Her co-worker looked into her water bottle and asked her why it was yellow.โ
โI felt disgusted,โ the woman told KHOU in 2022. โI raised it to my face, smelled it, and it smelled like urine.โ
KTRK also reported that:
โFurther testing brought devastating news to the 54-year-old victim, who learned she had acquired an incurable sexually transmitted disease.โ
This same brave woman secretly installed a security camera that implicated Diaz in the crimes.
Eventually, other women joined the lawsuit. Four unnamed victims who also:
โReportedly tested positive for incurable sexually transmitted diseases after coming in contact with water bottles infected by Diaz.โ
Nine other women have joined the lawsuit, sharing similar experiences and diagnoses, which brings the total number of affected workers to thirteen.
Additionally, the lawsuit named the buildingโs owner, management company, maintenance company, and the cleaning company that employed Diaz.
According to KHOU, Diaz told police that he acted with “malicious intent” and referred to it as a “sickness.”
Iโm wondering what else Diaz has been up to. I hope the police have examined his personal life closely, as well as every other place he was employed. Diaz is 53 years old. I seriously doubt that he got up one morning and just decided to take a leak into everyoneโs water bottle.
Heโs right about one thing: it is a sickness, but I canโt believe that this was his first offense. While weโre on that subject, there is no way that six years is enough of a penalty for infecting thirteen women with an incurable STD. That sentence is a crime in itself.
