Madness In A Nutshell, Oregon Official Identifies As A Turtle
All hell broke loose earlier this week when GOP Rep. Keith Self, R-Texas, chair of the House Foreign Affairs Europe Subcommittee, referred to Rep. Tim McBride as “Mr. McBride.”
Why the uproar? Tim McBride now calls himself Sarah and somehow managed to get elected as a Delaware representative. After Self’s introduction, subcommittee ranking member Rep. Bill Keating, D-Mass., halted the hearing over the issue, demanding that Self introduce McBride the “right way.”
“You will not continue” the hearing “with me unless you introduce a duly elected representative the right way!”
In response to the ultimatum, Self declared, “This hearing is now adjourned.”
Message to Bill Keating: Self did introduce McBride the “right way.” McBride is a man, pretending to be female. There is no such thing as a “transgender.” That is a man-made term that is being used to describe a form of mental illness that the left uses as another arrow in their quiver of disruption.
In an interview with Michael Knowles of the Daily Wire, Self explained the reasoning for his introduction of McBride.
“Well, Michael, I’m a retired Green Beret. I’m not even sure what all the fuss is about. I mean, he is allowed to live his life — in fact, I spent 25 years on active duty defending his right to live his life as he chooses. But I don’t have to participate in his fantasy.”
Rep. Mary Miller referred to McBride as “the gentleman from Delaware, Mr. McBride” when recognizing him for a floor speech last month, and she agreed with Self’s sentiments.
She posted her support on X saying:
“Exactly! No one should be forced to go along with the Democrats’ delusions. Thank you, RepKeithSelf, for your boldness.”
Rep. Tim Burchett, a Republican from Tennessee, posted, “#GoodMan,” to support Self’s position.
If this much outrage can be generated over an introduction, using the correct surname for a biological male, imagine what would happen if Keith Self was ever called on to introduce another lunatic in Oregon.
The nutcase in question is JD Holt. Are you ready?
According to Fox News, Holt is a member of the Oregon Health Authority’s Consumer Advisory Council on Mental Health. However, Holt identifies as a turtle, known in the nonbinary community as “turtle gender” or “tortoise gender.”
Gender Wiki is a website that documents non-binary genders and describes “turtle gender,” also known as “tortoise gender,” as a valid “xenogender” identity in which a person feels a gendered connection to turtles.
He appears to believe that there is nothing unusual about his self-perceptions. Holt, who is also known as “JD Terrapin” on Facebook, made this statement with a serious expression while introducing himself during a virtual council meeting on December 20.
“Hello everybody, it’s JD. I use they, them, and turtle for my pronouns. I’m in the Springfield-Eugene area and I get to be part of the council.”
Holt is one of roughly two dozen “consumers” on the OHA’s Consumer Advisory Council (OCAC). OHA Director Dr. Sejal Hathi, who not surprisingly, was chosen by Democratic Gov. Tina Kotek, appointed the council.
OHA spokesperson Amber Shoebridge told Fox News:
“In following Oregon statute, every member of the Oregon Consumer Advisory Council is someone with lived experience, bringing the voice and experiences of people across the state that have experienced behavioral health challenges.”
Shoebridge noted that members are appointed through a collaborative effort involving a seven-member committee selected by the council and the director, who has the final authority.
The advisory council’s duties include ” investigating,” “evaluating,” and “recommending” state behavioral health resources.
I think it’s safe to say that in Oregon, the inmates are truly running the asylum.
Seriously, this is pure madness. How can anyone look at this situation and rationally condone it? First, the idea that a sane human being thinks it’s ok to identify as a turtle is insanity. But then to allow this individual to advise health resources to others that may have legitimate “human” mental problems is beyond the pale.
I hope as you read about this lunacy, you are as “Shell-Shocked” as I am.
I had to do it.
