The America First Standard #6: The Necessary Put-down of Zelensky
What a pleasant surprise. Last week, I wrote about the proposed “mineral rights agreement” that the Trump administration and Ukrainian autocrat Volodymyr Zelensky appeared ready to sign. But then, the unexpected happened.
Last Friday, a disastrous public meeting between President Trump and Zelensky seemed to have stalled America’s highly concerning mineral rights agreement with the Ukraine. In a shocking display of disrespect, Zelensky publicly lectured both President Trump and Vice President JD Vance about the Russia-Ukraine war as the President’s guest in the White House.
More specifically, Zelensky told Vice President Vance that “During the war, everybody has problems, even you, but you have a nice ocean and donโt feel it now, but you will feel it in the future”. This subtle threat led President Trump to directly respond by saying “Youโre in no position to dictate what weโre going to feel.” After those initial comments, President Trump and Zelensky went back-and-forth for several minutes in a heated exchange in front of the media. President Trump rightfully pressed Zelensky to want a ceasefire deal, but Zelensky waffled on this issue—showing that Zelensky’s power depends completely on the Ukraine remaining a military dictatorship under martial law.
The whole world watched Zelensky seemingly crumble after years of unlimited resources and praise from the American Regime. Then in just a few minutes, Zelensky’s grip on the American people seemed to be finally coming to a much-needed end. This foreign head of state is now no longer in charge of determining America’s foreign policy in Eastern Europe.
For reference, here is a video excerpt below of President Trump’s interaction with Zelensky last Friday:
After three long years, the United States Federal government has spent over sixty BILLION dollars in this proxy war with Russia—nearly initiating a catastrophic war with Russia. The Biden administration did not put the interests of the American people first over the past three years. Instead, the previous presidential administration further squandered our nation’s wealth and resources while simultaneously almost starting World War 3.
Zelensky’s grandstanding in front of the cameras certainly did not have the effect that he intended it to have. After the meeting, President Trump’s team shared the following post on Truth Social concerning this heated encounter:
What’s more, President Trump announced this week that his administration is temporarily pausing all military aid to Ukraine after Zelensky’s repeated refusal to engage in a ceasefire agreement with Russia.
On Monday, President Trump definitively reiterated his desire for peace between Russia and Ukraine as well as his displeasure with Zelensky’s conduct.
After not seeing a lot of initial positive strides in the foreign policy sphere, the 2nd Trump administration seems to finally be making a little bit of headway in ending one major front in the American Regime’s “forever wars”: the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
Only time will tell if the Trump administration will put the American people first by fully eliminating America’s ties to the Ukrainian regime and ending our involvement in this border conflict on the other side of the planet. Let’s hope that President Trump’s necessary takedown of Zelensky last Friday may be the first step in enacting an “America First” foreign policy that our nation desperately needs.
