Yet Another Sign the Left has Given up on Democracy: The Democrat’s Desperate Appeal to Activist Judges
The left likes to use terms with no meaning that these radicals never explain. Since President Trump came on the scene in 2015, the Democrats have described him as racist, a fascist, and an existential threat to democracy. The left has never tried to explain why any of these pejoratives apply to the 47th President of the United States. The problem the Democrats now have is that Trump didn’t just win in a landslide in the electoral college in 2024, he also won the popular vote as well.
The Democrats couldn’t beat Trump at the ballot box and the party’s attempts to impeach and prosecute the President failed as well. The reality is that the public not only supports the President, the country also agrees with the MAGA agenda that Trump ran on. The left gave up on trying to persaude the country that Trump and his policies are bad for the nation a long time ago, these extremists know they can’t win the battle of ideas. Given that the Democrats have given up on trying to beat Republicans at the polls, the left’s last line of defense is now activist judges like James Boasberg, who was elevated to the Federal District Court level by Obama over a decade ago.
Judge Boasberg recently issued several absurd verbal and written orders attempting to significantly restrict the President’s ability to deport people who have no right to be in this nation. These individuals are also known to be members of violent gangs such as Tren de Aragua. Boasberg’s record shows he clearly leans to the left, he has issued various orders in favor of environmental groups, including ones that were struck down. While he was appointed originally by George H.W. Bush, the former President was liberal on many issues, and Obama was the one who elevated this left-wing activist to his current judicial position.
The constitution is very clear. Article three clearly gives the executive brand the sole authority to protect the country’s borders and set foreign policy. The President is absolutely right to expel people from the US who had no right to be here in the first place, and these individuals are also violent threats to the security of the country. There is nothing more undemocratic than a single person who is unelected and unaccountable to the public overriding the decisions of a Democratically elected President who got nearly 75 million votes. Trump ran on deporting illegal immigrants, he won, and he’s doing exactly what he campaigned on. The President’s actions also in no way violate the Constitution or any other laws.
One of the most important actions that Trump took during his successful first term was to appoint three Supreme Court justices. With individual left-wing activists pretending to be judges trying to legislate from the bench, the high court is going to become critically important for the President. Trump was right when he said if the Democratically elected leader of the country can’t run the country we don’t have a nation. America voted in November, and elections have consequences.
