Kamala Harris was one of the worst candidates to run for the Presidency in the history of the United States. The former Senator from California wasn’t just incompetent, she couldn’t answer basic questions, manage her campaign budget, or articulate any remotely coherent vision of the future. The main message of her pathetic campaign was that she was defending Democracy, and when asked what he would do differently than Biden, one of the worst Presidents in US history, she claimed to not be able to think of a single thing. Harris was incompetent when she ran for the Democratic nomination in 2020, and her presidential campaign was equally as disappointing for the left.
The core problem the Democratic party has is bigger than Kamala Harris though. The Democrats have lost the middle class of America. Most working-class people in the country today correctly view the left as out-of-touch with the nation. The Biden administration’s signature piece of legislation, the so-called Inflation Reduction Act, focused on what the left refers to as climate change, a topic that most working-class families do not care about at all. The Democratic party has failed primarily because the left simply has tried to brand Democrats as fighting against Trump rather than standing for any actual and real values of policies the country cares about.
This is why Kamala Harris’s upcoming speech where she is expected to criticize Trump and his administration shows how broken the Democratic Party is after Trump resoundingly defeated the former Vice President in November of 2024. The reports are then in her first major appearance since getting obliterated by the current President, Harris plans to give a speech that is very critical of the President and his administration. The former Senator from California will also be speaking in San Francisco, which is fitting, since both the city and her likely speech is completely out of touch with most of the country.
There has been a dividend in the fractured Democratic Party in how to approach a second Trump administration, with some Democrats such as Schumer and Fetterman willing to work with Republicans, while most on the left like Harris still trying to condemn every action and word the current President. Trump won the popular vote by nearly 3 million, and he also scored a landslide in the Electoral College. The President won every swing state as well. The country saw 12 years of failed left-wing policies under Obama and Biden, and sided with Trump and the MAGA movement.
The Democratic party will continue to fail if the leaders on the left simply oppose Trump without offering any real or substantive ideas to the middle class of America. The Democrat’s approval rating is currently below 30 percent, the President has made the Republicans the party of working-class people and broadened the coalition of the right significantly. The left has lost control of the narrative with Musk buying Twitter and media outlets such as NPR that just spewed anti-Trump propaganda now being held accountable, the lying and gaslighting by Democrats about Trump isn’t working anymore. There is an old saying that those who don’t understand history are bound to repeat it. The left refuses to understand the key lessons of the 2024 election or listen to a public that wants both parties to work together to fix problems the country faces. Harris remains devoid of any substantive or real ideas, and her latest planned speech is yet a reminder of this obvious fact.
