Trump’s ABC Interview Shows Intereacting with the Failing Liberal Media is a Waste of Time
Some things change and some things remain the same. That statement is as true in American politics today as that adage in life. While President Trump has learned a lot from his first term in Washington, and he’s made sure his cabinet is filled with competent leaders who support his America First philosophy, the 47th President still faces some of the old familiar challenges. One of the best decisions of the much better-run Trump campaign in 2024 than the poorly managed effort in 2020 was that the President avoided doing any interviews with the corrupt legacy media in the weeks leading up to the election. Trump knew how dishonest and vicious the left-wing activists pretending to be journalists were in the liberal press, and he used outlets such as X to reach and communicate with the country directly. Trump also successfully sued ABC, and the President should easily win his pending litigation against CBS over the network’s disgusting decision to edit Harris’s interview with 60 Minutes.
This is why the President and his staff surprisingly made what clearly was a small but still avoidable mistake by recently doing an interview with the heavily biased ABC network. Trump sat down for an interview with so-called journalist Terry Moran for a wide-ranging interview that covered issues such as Ukraine, the border, tariffs, and the President’s recent executive orders limiting access to classified materials for individuals such as former President Biden. Moran followed the classic playbook the corrupt and failing legacy media has played with Trump for nearly a decade now, the left-wing activist simply tried to attack the President, ask closed-ended and misleading questions, and stated facts that are untrue. Among the many absurd statements Moran made, he accused Trump of seeking retribution against his political opponents and also implied the President’s tariffs are causing the extinction of many small businesses.
ABC is a corrupt and failing network that epitomizes what is wrong with legacy media. This so-called news station pushed the Russian hoax and also did nothing when George Stephanapolous lied repeatedly about court findings against Trump, claiming the President had been found liable for rape, which was patently false, ABC also hosts the morning show The View, which is a roundtable of ignorant individuals attacking the President relentlessly. Moran, true to form, constantly interrupted Trump, made misleading and false statements about the President’s policies, and even accused him of seeking revenge against his political opponents. The left-wing activist repeated many of the failed talking points from Kamala Harris’s unsuccessfully campaign.
The future of news in America is new media, not the stale and crumbling legacy media that networks such as ABC are a part of. Trump obviously needs to broaden his reach beyond traditional conservative media outlets now that he is president to reach the entire country, but there are other preferred methods of communication that Trump should be able to use more successfully. The President can speak directly to the public through live-streamed broadcasts, hold town hall meetings where the public gets to ask real questions, and use the White House briefing room to talk to the country directly. Trump should not waste time doing interviews with corrupt networks that are just trying to ambush him, these exchanges serve no purpose.
The American people’s confidence in the corrupt legacy media is at an all-time low. The public saw right through the attempt by these left-wing radicals pretending to be journalists to lie and gaslight Trump and his MAGA agenda. Networks such as ABC are not living in the real world, these failing new stations still think that their job is to be the resistance to Trump, not to report the news for the American people to make a decision. While obviously, the President should continue to speak not only to his base, but the country as a whole, Trump should be done with the corrupt legacy media, his exchange with these corrupt networks simply has no value.
