Why Trump’s Latest Round of Tariffs Will Be Another Win for the US
What you see is what you get with the 47th President of the United States. While most politicas lie, gaslight, and try to manipulate the public, President Trump is determined to give ordinary Americans a voice in Washington D.C. Trump ran on securing the border, cutting taxes, making countries don’t rip the US off, and helping to bring peace through strength, these are the issues he’s focused on now.
One of the central issues that the President has focused on since he initiated his run for the Presidency in 2015 is making sure European and other countries stop taking advantage of Americans. The reality is the last 2 decades of trade have largely only benefited the top 1 percent in America. Most middle and working-class families have seen their wages and standard of living fall during this time period. Trump ran on many issues, but the President’s most important goal is rebuilding the middle class. The 47th President is focused on exactly that with the widespread reciprocal tariffs he announced on Wednesday.
The reality is that despite the usual lying and gaslighting by the failing liberal corporate media, countries depend too much on the US market to engage in any serious or extended trade war with America. Trumps has the leverage, and he knows this fact. Europe depends on the US both as an export market and to help the continent with national security issues, such as the recent tension in the Middle East caused by the Houthis that Trump resolved. America had a trade deficit of $235.6 billion in 2024, Europe needs US markets far more than American companies need the EU. China also depends far more on US consumers buying the country’s cheap products than America depends on exports to the world’s second-largest economy.
Trump is using tariffs for 2 main purposes, one short-term, and the other goal more long-term oriented. The President wants to force countries to renegotiate bilateral agreements with the US in the near-term. Trump is focused over the long run in bringing manufacturing back to the United States to help rebuild the middle class. The administration has already seen massive investment in the US since Trump came into power, such as Taiwanese Semiconductor Manufacturing Company’s recent announcement of a $100 billion investment in the country. Most trade deals over the last 20 years have enriched the top 1 percent at the expense of the middle class, Trump primary goal with this and other policies is to begin to reverse this negative trend by bringing more middle class jobs to the United States.
President Trump delivered in his first term on the border, the economy, and by achieving historical peace agreements such as the Abraham Accords. While the left and these radicals’ allies in the media continue to attack the President and his policies, Trump keeps getting results. Canada and Europe may talk a good game or even make some retaliatory moves in the short term, but foreign countries depend far more on US markets than this country depends on them, the President will win any trade war, and he knows that. While the left wants to apologize for American leadership, Trump continues to project strength and get results for the country.
