Fed Chair Powell Declares War on Trump with his Absurd and Inappropriate Commencement Speech
President Trump has outlasted nearly all of his political rivals. One by one, Biden, Pelosi, Liz Cheney, Mueller, Harris, and Clinton have all either become irrelevant or left politics altogether. Pelosi is the only significant political opponent of Trump who is still in office, and she has no important role anymore. The president has survived impeachments, prosecutions, and absurd investigations like the Mueller inquiry into Trump’s nonexistent Russian ties. The President learned a lot from his first term, and his cabinet is completely aligned with him philosophically this time around.
The last key official in a position of power to oppose President Trump and his agenda is Fed Chairman Jerome Powell. The head of the Federal Reserve has made multiple inappropriate negative public comments about Trump and his policies. Powell recently criticized Trump’s tariffs. He criticized this economic action as likely one that will slow growth and be inflationary. Even if the Fed chair disagrees with the president’s trade policies, Powell’s frequent public disagreement with Trump serves no purpose and makes the U.S. look weak. While the Federal Reserve is obviously independent of the executive branch, the chairman of the central bank is supposed to work with the government to coordinate fiscal and monetary policy. Clinton’s partnership with Greenspan is one example of a successful partnership between the Fed and the president.
This is why Powell’s recent speech using the same stale left-wing talking points about Trump being a threat to democracy and criticizing the president’s efforts to stop Harvard from bringing unvetted foreign students was both inappropriate and also absurd. It should also be concerning. The head of the Federal Reserve is a nonpartisan position. This person should not be openly criticizing the president. The president is making sure Harvard, which receives billions in tax dollars from the federal government, doesn’t bring foreign students who hate America or who are spies for foreign governments like China, to this country. An advisor to Powell who worked at the Federal Reserve recently stated that the Fed chairman sees himself as resistant to the president, and his recent speech suggests that statement was true.
The reality is that the left took over America’s universities in the 1970s, and many of these higher education institutions are failing students by indoctrinating them with left-wing trash and not providing them with the kind of real-world skills they need to get jobs and succeed. Many of these colleges load students up with massive amounts of debt and offer them little to no assistance with these obligations after students leave school.
Powell is the last of a long line of officials who opposed Trump and his agenda to be in power. The failing Fed chair’s term is up in May of 2026 next year. The head of the Central Bank spent years saying inflation was transitory and also raised rates far too high ahead of the 2018 election, causing a sell-off in the stock market that hurt Republicans during the midterm elections that year. The reality is that despite the absurd lies and gaslighting about Trump being a threat to democracy or institutions of higher education, the 47th President easily won both the Electoral College and the popular vote. Trump’s efforts to reform Harvard and other universities that are getting billions in federal money will also improve the state of the education system as well. The Democrats and left-leaning partisans such as Powell continue to gaslight and lie, but the Fed chair will soon be yet another Trump adversary that the president has outlasted when the head of the Central Bank’s term expires less than a year from now.
