Is Race Keeping This High School From Doing The Right Thing?

What the hell is going on at Frisco Centennial High School, in Frisco, Texas? This entire story is tragic without the stench of racial bias permeating the narrative.

On April 2nd, Karmelo Anthony, a 17-year-old black and apparently self-absorbed teen, stabbed Austin Metcalf, another White 17-year-old, at a state track meet where their schools were competing.

At the time of the murder, Anthony confessed to the police that he had committed the act. According to an arrest warrant affidavit, Karmelo Anthony was waiting out a weather delay under a tent designated for Frisco Memorial High School students, where Metcalf attended school, when Metcalf told him to move.

Anthony allegedly reached inside his bag and said, โ€œTouch me and see what happens,โ€ the affidavit said. Metcalf then touched him, to which Anthony replied, โ€œPunch me and see what happens.โ€

According to the report, Metcalf grabbed Anthony and again told him to move when Anthony pulled out a knife, stabbed Metcalf once in the chest, and ran away.

Anthony told officers at the scene he was assaulted first and acted in self-defense.

โ€œIโ€™m not alleged. I did it,โ€ Anthony allegedly told police.

Anthony then allegedly said to investigators, โ€œHe put his hands on me. I told him not to.โ€

Austin Metcalf had a twin brother, and as he was bleeding out from the stab wound, his brother held him in his arms as life slipped out of his body.

This should have been a nothing-burger dispute. Situations like this happen thousands of times across the country between young men. At the very worst, this may have escalated into a fist fight, but there is a good chance it may have ended up being only a shoving match with some words exchanged. However, Anthony destroyed another young manโ€™s life by pulling out a knife and stabbing him in the heart. This never should have happened, but Karmelo Anthony made a choice, and with that choice, he became a murderer.

Why did Anthony bring a knife to a track meet? That in itself is very strange and very telling. Then why did he feel so entitled to act so viciously in such a benign situation?

His words indicate that he was ready to do what he ultimately did. By saying, โ€œTouch me and see what happens,โ€ Anthony admits he knew what he would do.

Since then, Anthonyโ€™s family has raised over $500,000 through a GiveSendGo account, which in part has been used to move into a posh neighborhood. The familyโ€™s excuse is that they had received death threats. Then, a liberal judge reduced his bond from $1 million to $250,000, allowing him to return home. His family and friends have held press conferences, and the MSM has painted Anthony as the victim while forgetting that an innocent 17-year-old, Austin Metcalf, was the young man who was MURDERED.

The truth is that these accommodations alone have been overly sympathetic to Anthonyโ€™s cause. The GiveSendGo account appears to be being used in ways other than described. The liberal judge accommodated a murdererโ€™s request to go home, and holding press conferences for an accused murderer with a commiserating MSM is akin to desecrating Metcalfโ€™s memory.

On Tuesday, another indignity was added to the mounting list of disgraceful actions taken by officials involved in this case. The Next Generation Action Network (NGAN), a radical left advocacy group based in Dallas, announced that Anthony has met all academic requirements and will be receiving his diploma, with a commendable GPA of 3.7, according to CBS News. As a result of his high GPA, he will not have to attend any classes for the final month and a half of the school year.

Needless to say, this has justifiably outraged many after learning about this decision.

One frustrated X user posted this:

โ€œKarmelo Anthony, the young man who murdered a student from another school at a track meet in April, will be graduating from High School next month. Apparently, killing someone doesnโ€™t warrant expulsion from school in the Frisco Independent School District.โ€

NGAN, led by Dominique Alexander, has been a vocal supporter of Anthony, portraying the teen as a victim of bullying and systemic bias. The organizationโ€™s involvement has drawn scrutiny, especially due to Alexanderโ€™s own questionable history.

The leftist advocacy group is reportedly providing a security detail for Anthony and his family, according to KXAS-TV.

The fact that Anthony gets to graduate after murdering Austin is blatantly motivated by racial fear. The left loves to intimidate weak officials like those in charge of this high school.

How can any rational person justify this? Anthony should be permanently expelled for just bringing a knife to a school event. The fact that he murdered another student by stabbing him in the heart with that knife should put him in prison for the remainder of his life.

What the left calls being progressive is often nothing but disrespect. By refusing to acknowledge the gravity of the crime Anthony committed, they are dishonoring Austinโ€™s memory.

Anthony is guilty of a senseless murder, and his skin color is guilting others into ignoring that undisputed fact. The kid-glove treatment he is receiving is both stomach-turning and infuriating.

A deserving young man is dead and cannot graduate, while the person who killed him is being supplied with security and will receive his diploma without finishing the school year.

Where is the Justice for Austin?
