Republicans Focus on No Tax on Tips Shows the Key Difference Between the Parties
There is an old saying that God gave man 2 ears and 1 mouth for a reason. The willingness and ability to listen is key for politicians, especially today with public confidence in Washington at an all-time low. The public expects leaders to get results, but the country also wants to know that politicians share the same values and priorities of the constituents these people are supposed to be representing. American is done with being talked down to and lectured by politicians and other elites.
When the Democrats were in power the signature bill of the Biden Administration was the so-called Inflation reduction, a piece of legislation focused on what the left refers to as climate change. This bill was a 2 trillion dollar piece of legislation that focused primarily on what Democrats call global warming, and that spending was a major contributor to the runaway inflation that began to accelerate in Biden’s second year in power. The Democrats had no interest in listening to the middle class of the country or focusing on what most working-class people were worried about, the left didn’t pass a single major piece of legislation to attempt to seriously confront inflation.
The entire basis of the left is that there is an intellectual elite that should be making decisions for the country, the Democrats support socialized medicine, gun control, and higher taxes, all policies to consolidate more control in the hands of the government, are ideas that stem from this absurd premise. The leaders of the Democratic party have no respect for the American people, the left impeached and prosecuted Trump in significant part because these radicals did not trust the people to vote for their candidates. The January 6 hearing was also an attempt to shame supporters of the 47th President as well.
This is why Republican support for a $25,000 tax deduction for tips is yet another sign that conservatives are the politicians actually listening to and trying to represent the American people.
Trump has made the Republican party the one representing the working class. The Reagan Democrats are all Trump Republicans now. The Republican party respects and represents the working class of this country, and that is why the policies MAGA supports are centered on returning power to the middle class, not shifting power to so-called Washington elites. With prices still high despite Biden’s failed policies, Trump and the Republicans are literally already doing more to help the country deal with costs in their first 6 months in power than the Democrats even tried to do in 4 years. The recent proposal to eliminate taxes on tips that Trump originally discussed during the 2024 Presidential campaign passed the Senate with unanimous support this week.
President Trump and the MAGA movement have made a point to listen and actually represent the American people, while the left continues to lecture and talk down to working-class in the country. The main reason Trump and Republicans took back control of Washington in 2024 wasn’t just because of the failures of both the Biden and Obama administrations, but also because the values of conservatives are more aligned with those of the American people. Republicans continue to focus on issues that matter to most people, and that’s the primary reason why MAGA’s coalition is simply bigger than that of the Democrats.
