Peter Navarro fielded questions on Thursday concerning court decisions on tariffs, making clear that Plan A anticipated the battlefield and that their current position is a good one, despite the seeming setbacks.

Then he was asked a question that he didn’t particularly care for, distinguishing between a journalistic question and an op-ed one.

Navarro is an American economist who has been the senior counselor for trade and manufacturing to US President Donald Trump since January 2025. He previously served in the first Trump administration, first as the director of the White House National Trade Council, then as the director of the new Office of Trade and Manufacturing Policy.
