CNN’s Slow Pivot Away from the Left Should Permanently Break the Democrats’ Control of the Legacy Media
A narrative not rooted in reality can only exist if there is no significant challenge to the argument. While most conservatives deal in facts, most of the left likes to push absurd claims about nonexistent racism and sexism in American society to try to justify the Democratic party’s radical agenda which the American people clearly do not support. The constantly repeated blatant lies of the left that women make less than men in the United States, blacks don’t have the same opportunities as whites, Trump was a Russian agent, or MAGA is a white supremacy movement, are only persuasive to people who do not know the actual facts.
The media landscape has changed significantly over the last decade, with Podcasts such as Joe Rogan’s having a bigger influence, Musk buying was formerly what was known as Twitter, and confidence in the legacy media collapsing in most circles with the American public. The left hasn’t just lost control of the country, these same Democrats also can no longer dictate the narrative in this nation. While most of the legacy media remains in the hands of left-wing radicals pretending to be journalists, the left’s complete control over most of the corporate press and social media which existed during Trump’s first term has been diminished significantly.
This is why the slow pivot to the right by CNN is one of the most important and undercovered stories unfolding right now. CNN was once one of the most respected names in the news when Wolf Blitzer and other news anchors at the network were on the ground in Iraq during the first Gulf War, and this media outlet had huge viewership numbers in the 1990s all the way through Trump’s first term. CNN turned into a left-wing propaganda network after Trump won in 2016, and this network constantly pushed absurd lies about the President, including blatant falsehoods about his nonexistent ties to Russia. The ratings at CNN have plummeted since Trump won in November.
The left’s ability to control the narrative is slowly eroding, and a major shift at CNN away from being simply a mouthpiece for Democratic propaganda would likely be the final blow for the Democrat’s ability to push the absurd and false storyline about Trump and MAGA the party has since the 47th President came to power nearly 9 years ago. CNN has slowly been giving Trump supporters such as Scott Jennings a bigger platform on the network, and the media outlet also fired left-wing anchors Don Lemon, Chris Cuomo, and Greg Acosta. Just yesterday CNN also reported Trump’s big court victory over Gavin Newsom in a legal battle over control of the National Guard as being breaking news, this is a huge change from the President’s first term, where the channel completely ignored some of Trump’s biggest accomplishments such as getting a bill for Veterans choice passed. Jefferey Zucker, who was the architect of turning CNN into a left-wing propaganda network as President of the news division, is also gone now.
While the power of the legacy media has been diminished significantly, the liberal press is still not completely irrelevant, and if a major network such as CNN pivots to the middle, the ability of Democrats to even attempt to push absurd and false narratives about the President and the MAGA movement will likely be completely destroyed. Despite the usual gaslighting of the left when they claim Democracy dies in darkness, the truth can often disappear when absurd narratives go unchecked, as happened far too often during Trump’s first successful term. CNN is still a business, and the company needs to make money, the news station cannot ignore the message sent in the 2024 election or the media outlet’s abysmal ratings. The slow but steady move by CNN to become an actual news station will likely be the final straw for the left’s ability to continue to push the absurd narratives seen over the last decade.
