Is NYC COOKED?

This past week has been a rough one for New York City. On Tuesday, over one million New York City voters participated in the 2025 Democratic primary for New York City’s Mayoral electon.

The top frontrunners in this Democratic primary for NYC Mayor were the disgraced former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, the socialist New York state assemblyman Zohran Mamdani, and the ultra-liberal City Comptroller Brad Lander.

Current New York Mayor Eric Adams was originally elected as a Democratic candidate in 2021. However, Mayor Adams decided to switch political parties and become an Independent in April 2025 following Adam’s growing unpopularity and federal indictments from September 2024.

Heading into the election, most of the Democratic political establishment backed Andrew Cuomo’s political comeback for New York City’s Mayor. In fact, Cuomo received endorsements from former US President Bill Clinton, former NYC Mayor Mike Bloomberg, and former New York Governor David Paterson

Despite being the odds-on favorite going into election night, Cuomo was certainly a vulnerable political heavyweight. His embarrassing resignation in 2021 as New York’s Governor over sexual harassment allegations still loomed enormously in the minds of voters.

Contrast Cuomo’s campaign with the young, immigrant New York state assemblyman Zohran Mamdani. In recent months, Mamdani received the loyalty of the far-left, progressive wing of the Democratic party for his radical platform and support from progressive politicians. Zohran received notable endorsements from US Senator Bernie Sanders, US Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and New York Attorney General Letitia James,

Some of Zoharn Mamdani’s radical proposals include free childcare, creating city-owned grocery stores, and freezing rent costs on all rent-stabilized apartments. Zoharn’s political policies fit with his background as an anti-establishment politician and a longtime member of the Democratic Socialists of America.

Going into election night, Cuomo’s polling numbers seemed to pull back while Zoharn Mamdani’s campaign continued gaining steam.

In a stunning upset, Zoharn Mamdani led the Democratic primary in the first round of ranked choice voting with over 43% of the vote. Due to Mamdani’s large lead, Andrew Cuomo conceded to Mamdani on election night.

The convoluted nature of ranked-choice voting means that Mamdani is not technically the official winner of this primary election. But, most political pundits expect that Zohran Mamdani will become the Democratic nominee for New York City’s Mayoral election in the coming weeks.

Consequently, New York City residents will likely decide between the corrupt incumbent in Eric Adams versus a fanatical socialist and Muslim immigrant in Zohran Mamdani in this November’s general election for NYC’s Mayor.

The “America First” residents of New York City are truly in a lose-lose situation heading into the general election in four months. Adams and Mamdani are the only two major candidates with a chance to win the general election, and neither will likely make “New York Great Again” like Rudy Giuliani did in the 1990s.

In effect, New York City is cooked whether Adams or Mamdani becomes the next Mayor of America’s largest city. Mass immigration and the decline in America’s Christian values have made it impossible for an “America First” leader to ever win elected office in New York City.

The great New York City of Frank Sinatra, Lou Gehrig, and Donald Trump is no more. The 2025 Mayoral election in America’s largest city shows a disturbing glimpse into the future of America with more mass immigration.

Frank Sinatra said it best” “It’s up to you, New York, New York”, but I don’t think NYC is will willing to be great anytime soon.

These little town blues are melting away
I’m gonna make a brand new start of it in old New York
And if I can make it there, I’m gonna make it anywhere
It’s up to you, New York, New York
