Someone Remind The NFL That Football Has Nothing To Do With Sexual Preference

The NFL has been riding high for decades. It’s hard to imagine that anything could knock it off its pedestal. However, nothing is impossible—just ask Disney. Like termites that destroy wood, all it takes is a few leftists to bring down a corporation from the inside out.

As you probably know, June has been designated as Pride Month. Which means that in the first month of summer, we are exposed to the insufferable sights and sounds of pride flags, rainbows, and special nights held by sports teams, all so a minute portion of the population can inconvenience the rest of us.

In 2021, the NFL crossed a very bizarre line with an ad that has resurfaced recently. In the ad, words go across the screen that say, among other things:

“Football is gay. Football is lesbian. Football is beautiful. Football is queer. … Football is transgender. … Football is for everyone.”

The ad ends with a rainbow-colored NFL logo and the statement that the NFL supports the “Trevor Project,” an organization founded in 1998 by the creators of the short film “Trevor” after they realized there wasn’t a national suicide lifeline specifically for LGBTQ youth.

The Trevor Project is a non-profit organization that provides crisis intervention and suicide prevention services for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (LGBTQ) young people ages 13-24. They offer support via phone (TrevorLifeline), chat (TrevorChat), and text.

While the Trevor Project sounds like a noble organization for youths who have been led astray by the lies and propaganda of the left, the NFL’s ad is more of the same.

Football is none of the things stated in the ad. Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant made headlines this week for making that exact statement on X.

“Football is gay. Football is queer. Football is transgender. … These are wild statements to make. … excuse my silliness, I’m going to proudly tell my boys football is none of these things. I have nothing against Gays, but this is far from right.”

Football is not centered around sexual desire or preferences. At the amateur level, it is a formative experience for young men or women in women’s leagues. It teaches people how to connect over a shared goal and bond through the ups and downs during a season.

The NFL is a business; it used to be a sport, but money and greed have taken its soul. It is still entertaining to watch, but if it continues down the path of Disney and other woke corporations, that can change quickly.

Football used to be a pure sport. Athletic competition that was at times brutal, but in its brutality, it was still pure. The left destroys everything, no matter how popular or strong it appears. The NFL needs to remember its roots. It didn’t get to its position of power by claiming to be things that it isn’t.

There is no pride in trying to appease a fragment of the population that, by their very nature, will never be appeased. NFL executives need to focus on loyalty, not a made-up month of pride and pastel colors.
