The Supreme Court’s Recent Decision Exposes the Biggest Difference Between Republicans and Democrats
The gaslighting that the Democrats engaged in during the 2024 election was historical. The same party that weaponized the Justice Department, supported censorship and tried to overthrow the democratic will of the people with a sham impeachment effort, tried to claim to be defending Democracy. While Republicans listened and sought to represent the nation, the Democrats were determined to manipulate voters and lecture the public on what so-called climate change and transgender policies should be supported. The right showed solidarity with the people while Democrats showed disdain for the masses.
The obvious reality is that the Democratic Party gave up on Democracy after the 2016 election. The FBI tried to subvert Trump from the beginning with Operation Crossfire Hurricane, the Democrats moved to impeach Trump quickly after taking the House without any logical basis for such an effort, and the January 6th committee was also yet another pathetic effort to smear the MAGA movement with false claims and lies. The Democratic party has clearly given up on the American people after 2016, and the left’s primary tactic in Trump’s already successful second term has been to venue shop and find radical left-wing judges who will subvert Trump’s agenda despite the strong public support that the 47th President maintains. The left’s attempt to abuse the court system to prevent a popular President with strong approval numbers from getting his popular agenda implemented epitomizes the Democratic party’s current disdain for both Democracy and the American people.
This is why both the recent Supreme Court decision to limit the power of District Courts to issue nationwide injunctions, actions which essentially paralyze the Executive branch, and the reaction to this opinion, are so revealing. In a 6-3 decision the Supreme Court held that District Courts can no longer issue nationwide injunctions with the exception of very limited instances. This decision is of critical importance because what the left was doing was targeting radical left-wing District Court Judges and then getting these Justices to issue opinions that blocked the President’s agenda on a nationwide basis.
The notion that 1 unelected official could stop a duly elected and popular President from getting his agenda the public supports is antithetical to the entire basis of a Democracy and the differing reaction to the high court’s opinion on this issue reveals the biggest difference between the right and left today in American politics. While Trump celebrated and even gave a press conference talking about how important and positive of a development this Supreme Court decision was, the radical left-wing Justices on the high court and many Democratic politicians absurdly tried to claim that no right was safe and that guardrails have come off American political system.
These claims by Democrats are nonsensical for many reasons. First, America is a Democracy, if the left wants to change national policies then Democrats need to win at the ballot box. Elections have consequences, and Trump winning both the popular vote and an electoral landslide has eliminated the absurd previous talking point the left had that the supposedly flawed electoral college was the only reason the 47th President was able to come to power. Second, there is a very specific reason why Democrats have been forced to forum shop and target extreme left-wing judges to get these absurd nationwide injunctions passed. Many justices do not support the decisions these radical judges are making, as the recent Supreme Court decisions show, and allowing 1 person with no real factual or legal basis to stop the agenda of a duly elected President is not what the founding father of the nation intended when the Constitution was written.
There is only 1 party in Washington that is listening to or representing the American people today, and unsurprisingly, these Republicans are the ones who are winning elections and wielding power today in the United States. The left violated the most basic and important premise of John Locke’s social contract theory when some of these elitists decided that the American people could no longer be trusted, the Democrats no longer cared about the will of the citizens these out-of-touch politicians were supposed to be representing. This Supreme Court decision is a win for Republicans for sure, but the high court’s opinion is an even bigger victory for Democracy.
