Why the Bombing of Iran Represents a Critical Moment for a Failing Democratic Party
The Democratic party currently has an abysmal approval rating of 30 percent. The left is more focused on fighting for illegal immigrants and Ukraine than American citizens and the real concerns of most voters. The Democrat’s entire message behind the 2024 election was to attempt to wrap the failing party in the cloak of being a savior of Democracy from Trump and MAGA, when the nation sided with the President and his movement the Democratic party was fractured. There have been two basic approaches to how to react to the 47th President’s overwhelming November victory by the left. Some, such as Senator Fetterman of Pennsylvania and Governor Whitmer of Michigan are willing to work with Trump, while others such as Senator Warren and Senator Schiff continue to oppose everything he says and does.
The biggest problem with most Democratic party leaders and the left today is that these politicians hate Trump more than they care about the United States, and many Democrats refuse to listen to the American people or acknowledge that elections have consequences, the nation has already spoken last November. The citizens of this country sent a clear message to the failing Democratic party last November, the people support Trump and his policy agenda, and the country wants both parties to work together to solve the problems the US faces. While obviously Republicans and Democrats have deep disagreements on many issues, there are some areas of agreement, and national security has generally been one of those topics.
While some on the left are sympathetic to Iran, many Democratic politicians view the elimination of Iran’s nuclear program as a positive step towards peace in the Middle East. This is why the Trump administration now briefing the Democrats on the full results of a successful and impressive military mission to destroy an Iranian nuclear program which has posed a critical challenge for multiple administrations should be an opportunity for the Democratic party to praise the President and show the party is willing to put partisan politics aside for the sake of the country and national security. This week will be an important test for the Democratic party. The Democrats will have a chance to show support of the US military and the President and indicate to the country that this failing party can put the country first despite the hatred of the 47th President.
The Democratic Party’s decision to not even applaud a child who has survived cancer at the State of the Union speech was the best example of how low many Democrats will sink to no show any support of Trump or his policies. The left’s disgusting Russian investigation into Trump’s nonexistent ties to Russia and two equally pathetic impeachments are further evidence of the Democrat’s blind hatred of the successful President. If the Democratic party can not put partisan differences aside even for national security, this should be a key sign that Democrats may not longer be functional in today’s polarized political environment. There have already been multiple absurd comments from the Democratic party questioning the constitutionality of the President authorizing a two hour military mission against a clear national security threat, and some far-left Democrats such as AOC have even called for impeachment. These are signs that the Democrats may not be able to even be a working party anymore.
After the Trump administration finishes briefing Congress over the next couple of days the Democrats will have a chance to praise the military and show solidarity with a President who clearly made the right moves. If the left’s only approach to Trump is to just say the opposite of what he is talking about, even when his comments are not partisan or controversial, many in the country will likely continue to see the Democratic Party as being irredeemable. The left has a chance to temporarily put down partisan differences and show Americans they are willing to put the country first, this test will be critical for a party that is increasingly becoming both isolated and irrelevant.
