The Left is Caught Gaslighting Again About the True History of Birthright Citizenship

The Democrats and their left-wing allies in the media lie so much about the 47th President that when these individuals actually tell the truth about Trump, most objective observers are surprised. The Democratic party has constantly lied about the President and his policies, ranging from the Russian hoax, outright mistruths about his comments at Charleston, or the absurd and incorrect statement that Trump didn’t want the National Guard sent in on January 6th. The left was able to gaslight and lie about Trump and his policies effectively at times during the President’s first term because the dishonest legacy media was complicit in these mistruths.

Those days are over now. The press has changed dramatically since 2016. Today, what was formerly known as Twitter is not controlled by the left, and the media landscape has become even more decentralized, with podcasts such as the Joe Rogan Show gaining an even bigger foothold in the information wars. This is why the left is not able to lie and gaslight effectively about Trump and his policies anymore. The President can now get his points out and actually expect a variety of more balanced media sources that many watch and listen to will fairly evaluate his actions.

A good example of the left’s failing recent attempts to lie and gaslight about the President’s policies is on the issue of birthright citizenship. Trump is clearly correct about the need to reform the blatant abuse of this law by illegal immigrants. The original purpose of this law was to ensure that slaves who had kids would be considered citizens, since blacks were not originally considered full citizens at the time the Constitution was written. The intent of the birthright law never came remotely close to thinking that this legislation would mean that people entering the country illegally could just have children on US soil, and these people would automatically become citizens of the nation.

The current absurd laws encourage people to enter the country illegally since these individuals know that if they have a child on US soil, that baby will be a citizen and, in many cases, the person giving birth will then also be less likely to be deported. There is no logical reason why someone whose parents are not US citizens should be considered a citizen simply because of where that person was born. An individual born to US citizens should be considered a citizen no matter where the location is when the baby enters the world, and likewise, the fact that someone who is a noncitizen gives birth on US soil does not mean their child should be considered a citizen of this country. It’s a slap in the face of everyone who is waiting in line legally to come to America to reward people who break the law and come into the US without the right to do so.

While the failing Democratic Party tries to mock Trump’s border wall, which the numbers clearly show has been successful, the President is also doing much more than building a physical barrier to secure our nation’s critically important borders. The President is now actually deporting people here illegally, he’s ending Medicaid and taxpayer subsidies for illegals, and his effort to revoke birthright citizenship and reinstall his Remain in Mexico strategy are also key to stopping the massive and unsustainable flow of illegal immigrants as well. Trump’s efforts to secure the border have been both comprehensive and successful. The 47th President’s action to revoke birthright citizenship is both in line with the original intent of the law, which is clearly being abused, and also another important step towards making sure the US is a country of laws that are being enforced.
