Why Obama Needs to be Held Accountable for his Actions Against Trump even if He’s Not Prosecuted

There is an old saying that those who don’t remember history are bound to repeat it. The past matters. While obviously elections are about the future, institutions and individuals still need to be held accountable for their actions. There were a number of dangerous and unprecedented actions taken by the Democrats against Trump after he famously announced his intent to run for the Presidency in 2015. From Operation Crossfire Hurricane to 2 sham impeachments and the weaponization of the Justice Department, some of the left’s treasonous efforts to undermine President Trump cannot be forgotten.

The Justice system exists for two main reasons. First, so victims and the families of those who are victimized can receive justice, and second, so a precedent is set about what kind of behavior will and won’t be tolerated in a society. If the actions of a perpetrator go unpunished, that emboldens criminals since that means that there are no consequences for illegal behavior. This is why the recent story that National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard intends to declassify documents showing that the origins of Operation Crossfire Hurricane and the fraudulent Russian investigation went all the way to the top still matters.

While the failing and disgraced legacy media is predictably trying to ignore this bombshell story, and these same left-wing activists pretending to be journalists never asked if Obama was aware of the treasonous attempt to wiretap and surveil then-candidate Trump’s campaign, the American people deserve answers to these questions for multiple reasons. A decision to manufacture fake intelligence against a candidate who then becomes President is an act of Treason, and there needs to be accountability. If President Obama’s actions to authorize Operation Crossfire Hurricane to spy on a Presidential campaign are allowed to stand without any action, this will also similarly embolden future Presidents to think that there are no consequences for their actions.

President Trump would never seek retribution against his political enemies, despite absurd claims from the usual lying leaders on the left and in the legacy media, but Obama needs to be held accountable so the correct precedent is set moving forward. While prosecuting the disgraced former President is not likely the best approach, Trump should publicly reprimand Obama, the House and Senate should censure him as they did with Schiff, and Republican representatives who are doing a good job should continue to demand answers about who knew what and when.

The possibility of prosecuting Obama should not be taken off the table either. The guardrails to American Democracy have slowly come off since Trump won in 2016, and the left decided to gaslight and claim the former President was an existential threat, justifying the absurd and disgusting actions the Democrats have engaged in with fraudulent prosecutions and sham impeachments for nearly a decade now. Trump needs to send a message not just to Obama, but also to the left, that breaking the law and committing treason has consequences, and the nation needs to know that the actions of the disgraced former Democratic President will not go unpunished.
